so... 6 assistants sign extensions... someone didnt!

Defensive coordinator Robb Smith, offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator Sam Pittman, tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr., defensive line and specialists coach Rory Segrest, defensive backs coach Clay Jennings and head strength and conditioning coach Ben Herbert have all signed contract extensions.

Amendments to employment agreements for offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Jim Chaney, running backs coach Joel Thomas and wide receivers coach Michael Smith are being finalized and will be released in the near future.

I know it said the other guys are finalizing their contract extensions, but is it telling that UA went ahead and announced everyone else's extensions? I honestly don't know, but why not wait for everyone to be finalized?

The way I take it is that "amendments to employment agreements" don't necessarily mean raises; they just mean changes - maybe even amending to the point of nullifying.

I'm afraid Thomas is getting an extension. I might be one of 6 Hog fans that don't care much for his body of work here, and thinks we can get a better coach and recruiter.

those 3 that haven't been updated were the only 3 remaining from the first staff that didn't have SEC non-compete clauses
