now a down-to-earth vodka from the Heartland!

Smithworks Vodka, a new spirit “finished and bottled” in Fort Smith, was released this week.

While largely made by the crew at Pernod Ricard USA in Fort Smith, country music star Blake Shelton had a hand in creating the brand Smithworks Vodka, which features a tractor on the logo, according to Pernod Ricard USA.

The vodka was sent out Tuesday to locations in Arkansas, Colorado, Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma to reflect “The Spirit of the Heartland.” It costs about $20 for a 750 milliliter bottle.

The 80 proof, triple-distilled and charcoal filtered vodka is “finished and bottled” by Pernod Ricard USA in Fort Smith using Lake Fort Smith water, according to Lauren Nodzak of Pernod Ricard USA. The vodka is made with corn from Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.

This was never close to happening. Fort Smith is the River Valley and it's going to stay that way.

"The vodka is made with corn from Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma."

It looks like Fort Smith bottled otherwise Arkansas wouldn't even be included on the list. Nor should it be with those company of states.

I had an employment offer from them fresh out of college, their compensation package was straight out of the coal mine towns in the 1880s with a portion of your salary being "money" that could only be spent in their in house store on flavored liqueur.

Not that attractive.

You're telling me Peach Schnaaps didn't seal the deal?

I know you couldn't have refused Peppermint Schnaaps.

They do have small cups next to a spicket on the vats for taste testing by employees.
