Organized religion has had it's place in society providing a social structure that encourages fellowship and a sense of community, and also can provide comfort for those people completely horrified by the prospect of death.

But because the entire belief system is based on 3,000 year old morays and superstitions that at face value based on what we've learned about the universe these last 2,999 years are obviously not very accurate or true within the parameters of reality,

it's something that many people are starting to become uncomfortable with as the "faith" continues to make attempts at taking control of our government.

This is the type of push back and ridicule that we need to see more of.

The emperor is not wearing any clothes.

Just put your money in the plate man. It goes straight to Jesus. Don't pay any attention to that Mercedes the pastor is driving.

I would be inclined to worship a 3,000 year old Moray Eel. It's probably seen some shite in its time.

Before we sneer to much and pat ourselves on the back... when you look at organized religion the mores they tend to espouse are fairly agreeable ones for the most part. Don't kill each other. Don't hump your neighbor's wife, donkey, or heirloom tomatoes. Don't steal. Don't be a rampaging D-bag.

The rest tends to be window dressing. Religion is perfectly fine. It might be running around buck nekkid, but so are an awfully lot of ideologies.

reality is we have lost a ton of history that would radically change our history and science books.

much of what we take as 100% fact in history and science is based on conjecture and faith, not hard facts, a lot like religion.

for someone to believe he or she knows enough history and science to 100% disprove God, is a foolish arrogant notion.

You guys and your fricking science explains everything BS. Ever notice how science only tries to discover things that contradict the scriptures? Ronnie Floyd is a good man. Only charged me and my family 8% of our income so long as we only sit on one of the back 3 rows and only attend the early services.

Intrusive arse is what he is. Don't have a conversation that offends him if he's walking by you in a restaurant. He'll ask the owner to remove you. Luckily if you threaten a lawsuit you'll get the a-hole removed as well.

It amazes me how many folks discredit religion simply because of a few complete and utter douches.

It would be as if we thought all African Americans were rapists, gang bangers, etc..

Or all Arkansans were complete and utter hicks.

Some of those ministers have degrees that would pay much, much more in the business sector yet are compelled to actually minister by a calling higher than the almighty dollar.

Floyd? I know nothing.... Others, beware linking all believers together please...

nothing more to it, he took the time to stop at the table where a friend and I where having a conversation he took offense to. I told him as politely as possible to GFHimself, and leave us to our conversation.

Shortly thereafter a he and a manager came up to us and told us we would have to leave because we were disturbing other guests. As we were well away from every other table, I told the manager our side of the story and were more than willing to cause a scene with his church goers.

We approached his table and he began to get in our face when the manager laid hands on my friend. As she is not a large person it was enough to land her on the floor roughly.

I told the manager the only resolution at this point is that we are either allowed to continue our meal, both parties are removed, or I have my lawyer in on this deal and see what he thinks.

The manager wisely decided to kick both parties out.

Armani Ronnie became one of my least favorite people ever since. It takes a special sort of person to pull that kind of stunt and that sort is a poor person to lead a congregation.

If religious folks wouldn't try to use positions in government to force their BS on people that aren't comfortable with lying then I wouldn't feel the need to address it.

Turning a blind eye has only encouraged these folks to be more bold, assuming silence means acceptance.

Religion, Sex, Alcohol, Gay Agenda, Legalized MJ, or complaining no communion wine was left?

Just guessing.

And I am most definitely speaking tongue in cheek here. Just joking folks.

From what I hear, I wouldn't have much respect for Mr. Floyd, but again, I don't know him...
