and it has cost us big time.

Kirkland was an All-American Guard and should have stayed there. Skipper isn't that good at tackle and Ragnow belongs at center.

Believe its one reason for the rash of penalties.

we don't have enough depth. if we had a true OT waiting to take over for Cook this wouldn't have happened... but we didn't

I'll call bullshite. Pittman is the best O-line coach in college football. We have the best five on the field.

I agree that we have the best 5 on the field, problem is we've got the best 5 at 3 positions playing 5 positions.

where did I say we didn't have the best five playing on the field. the problem is that they didn't recruit well enough at tackle. hence the position changes.

I doubt Pittman knows more about your jobs either. He just doesn't have time to waste posting on message boards.

If it was that simple, they'd make the change in a heartbeat. This conspiracy theory is silly. The truth is the line is good...not great. Never was.

They are big though :).

Skipper has always played tackle. Kirkland probably isnt best suited for tackle at this stage, but he is the best tackle we have, hence the lineup

Just kind of weird timing for this thread when we blew a&m off the line all game and the RBs could choose between which three open lanes to run through for 5-10 yards.

We got conservative in the 4th, like we always do, CBB trying his best not to lose, so he loses every frikin time.

Keep running when the only thing the opposition can do is sell out their defense for the run and hope that Arky's HC doesn't have any confidence in his QB to win the game for them.

That strategy is a perfect 10.

And when they did call a pass, the QB couldn't execute.

I'm sure it was all due to broken foot bones in the receiving corp.

A pass? He completed 20 of them

Remember the narratives, lefty. He also committed the holding penalties

I was referring to the later part of the game, mainly the fourth quarter for those that might not be clear about it.

Lefty is knowledgeable and was clear about what I meant, he's just obviously taking a different point of view on it this week so he decided to give me a little resistance.

Feeling a little PC this week I guess.

that's cool

He didn't throw a pass in the 4th quarter, and he threw 2 passes in overtime. One was a terrible underthrow, and one was on-target and broken up on a good play by the defender.

Yes, the fumble was bad, and it sucked, and shouldn't have happened. But good Lord, y'all act like Allen is the only reason we are in this position, and he is at the bottom of the list of reasons for the position we are in right now.

Yeah the line has looked significantly better the last two weeks since they changed up the run calls.

First of all, nobody on this board acts like Allen is the only reason we are in this position and you know that, so why did you type that?

Allen is definitely not at the bottom of the list as to why we are in this position right now. He holds the most influential and important position on the team.

College parity has put a very fine line on winning and losing and to me BA has been the biggest difference maker of any player on our team in deciding which side of the line we end up on. He has been the biggest factor of any player in CBB being 0-10 in games decided by 9 points or less.

That doesn't put him at the bottom of the list.

I can see CBB thinking that BA is so very close to putting it together for a complete game that he's going to stay with him and I can't second guess him for that.

Although I do put almost equal credence in making a change just for the sake of making a change and take the pressure off BA to see if that might help him.

We like to gripe.

Let us be.

Probably healthy to gripe.

If we start getting comfortable with losing we're going to wake up one morning and realize we've become Illinois.

It was the 4th game before we gave up a sack, wasn't it?
Yeah, Kirkland's future is at guard, but if Pittman thinks he's our best option at LT right now, I guess that's good enough for me. The line will start gelling better as we go along.
