you are doing exactly what i just said in my first post

when someone says they want an offensive minded coach they automatically assume that they don't give a shite about defense

just beucase i want a good offensive minded coach doesn't mean the defense has to be baylor bad

Have you not noticed all the offensive minded coaches being tossed around are have a defense that is just that?

huge freeze is an offesive guy. they play pretty good defense.

Jim Mora is an offensive guy they play decent defense. '

I bet you clammer for gruden, he's a west coast offensive guy.

Peterson at boise would be a grand slam. offensive guy.

so no, they all don't. you are acting just like the guys at hogville with the irrational thinking. the extreme line of thinking will get you no where.

the problem is, when i say offense you think Dana or Art Briles. that's not my problem that's yours.

First I've seen Hugh Freeze and Jim Mora listed as candidates. So since you could pull from, well, every one who has coached a game in the past 10 years, this was the best you could come up with?

I'm drunk and i'm watching football i don't feel like having a debate with you over the nitpiking. you know I'm right.

Offensive minded guy does not equate run n shoot spread them out throw it 60 times a games. it just means a guy who can put points on the board and is more offensive natured

Offensive coaches are no more inclined to have a shitty defense than defensive guys are to have a shitty offense.

Look at the pool of offensive names being rumored to be candidates, all offense no defense.

are you guys really trying to nitpik this shite? are you honestly going tos it here and tell me that the team we played today didn't have a DECENT defense? really?

guys stop. i get what you are trying to say, but you are making yourself slook silly. you really are. if you want to go defense and not offense i have no problem with that, but you don't have to try to poke holes in my post to do so.

Dennis Johnson had a career high in rushing yardage, they could not stop the run, but our OC refused to stop calling passing plays.

Which one of these has the elite defense?:

Dana Holgorsen, HC West Virginia
Pat Fitzgerald, HC Northwestern
Sonny Dykes, HC Louisiana Tech
Mike Gundy, HC Oklahoma St
Chip Kelly, HC Oregon

Now go sober up, silly.

Is this question really that hard to answer? Wait....

Guess its too much to look at the candidate list and have an objectionable discussion at the rational level, I tried.

you act like my premise is stupid

look at the top defenses in the SEC

LSU
Alabama
Georgia
Florida
South carolina

LSU- miles was an offensive lineman and an offensive coordinator before coming a head coach. he threw the ball all over the place at OSU

Georgia- Richt was an OC at fsu before going to Florida

South Carolina- fun n gun

they have lights out defenses. but they are offensive minded coaches. that's all i am saying you act like i'm challenging the rules of fricking physics or something. maybe this to you is just as complicated as physics so i will give you a pass

LSU, Georgia, and Carolina, to an large degree, run very boring run first offenses, however none of these guys are:

Dana Holgorsen, HC West Virginia
Pat Fitzgerald, HC Northwestern
Sonny Dykes, HC Louisiana Tech
Mike Gundy, HC Oklahoma St
Chip Kelly, HC Oregon

Who are listed as candidates for the job. I mean I can discuss fantasy candidates with you or it would be easier for you to slide on over to HV and join one of the many Gruden threads.

Added James Franklin after he evened his record to 4-4.

They finish with:

@UK
@Ole Miss
vs Tenner
@The Fightin' Grobes

Vandy has never been to back to back bowl games in their history, they've only been to 4 ever. Can they get it?

I've never seen people go out of their way to trash a coach who is ranked in the top 10 and is 8-0. According to both RT and HV Strong would get beat by Bama, LSU every season, and he is football versions of Stan Heath, as if that makes any sense whatsoever.

They didn't seem to care about that before Petrino was fired.

d1nonlyhogfan does nothing but trash Louisville and Strong.

If we were 8-0 it would be because we're badass and clutch motherfrickers.

but what should I expect from people who still expect Gruden to be announced coach after Thanksgiving.

Somebody on Hogville posted this, and it got me interested.

Rich Rod.. I think he could be successful here, as we're much like WVU we have to rely on our offense, because of lack of defensive prospects. I don't blame him for the Michigan crap, they all hate you up there unless you're a "MICHIGAN MAN!!!!111ONEONEONE"
