I always like the pieces
Offense by Dan Enos
Defense by Robb Smith
Offense by Dan Enos

74 Colton Jackson (6-6, 302, Fr.) He had a great spring. Coach (Bret) Bielema had to remind me sometimes that he was a freshman. He made great improvement from the first to the end of spring. He’s going to be a really good player. He’ll fight you. He’s big and athletic.

3 McTelvin “Sosa” Agim (6-3, 282, Fr.) Very impressive this spring. He’s a starter in some of our packages. He can play inside and outside. He’s just a special player and I think he’ll do a great job this season.

Reading through these and seeing the class (fr,jr,soph) of these players, makes me VERY optimistic of the future of the Hogs. We haven't had this kind of roster in a long time.

Good read. I'm impressed they got that much time with the coaches. Obviously, it trends towards the homer side because they're not going to flat out say a kid sucks but I definitely think you can read between the lines a bit in there and get some good info.
I'm definitely excited to read the comments from Enos on Stewart and Pettway. We're going to get gutted at WR after this season so I'm glad he's speaking so highly of them. There is going to be a lot of fresh faces in that rotation next year which could be scary.

At least our QB will hopefully be more experienced by then
Whereas this year we're veteran at WR and RB with a new QB. That should really help Allen out and lessen the usual downside to having a new QB. Which leads me to believe our offense won't really take a step back and our defense is supposed to be more solid than last year. Which means it'll come down to special teams.

Still concerned at LT.
Everybody still seems to be 'more comfortable' at RT.

Just can't see how our offense won't take a step back with a new qb, losing Tretola/Smothers/Kirkland, and no AC3. Hope you are right, though.

oh I'm sure it'll take a step back, I just don't think it'll be as big of a step as a new QB generally causes.

It's just scary to head into the season with such a big question mark at RB. While Whaley is the highest ranked RB Bielema has ever signed, there is no guarantee he is going to be as good as AC3 as a freshman. Then we have no clue if RW3 is going to be the same once he can be hit. Finally they're talking about Walker possibly being a 1,000 yard back. No offense to him but I think we'll struggle if he has to be the feature back. He fit a nice role last year and we need to keep it that way. It's just a lot of questions at such an important part of the offense.

I'm envisioning RW3 and Walker being thunder and lightning with whaley coming in to get a handful of carries as a different look.
day may breakthrough as well...

I agree. Our O will almost assuredly take a step back after losing the talent we lost, but it should be a very competent group.

If walker is a feature back we're in trouble at Running back. Walker is way too slow.

I bet Sosa would be a faster back than Walker

Probably an accurate statement.

I still think Sosa gets some carries

I think we'll be better at running back. I also think our offensive line will be better than last season. Pittman took the year off and our running game WAS NOT GOOD.

Very promising to hear that the LR kid has put on 10lbs of lean muscle already and should be 5-10 heavier come September. We'll need him ready to carry the ball on day 1.
