Our game against Auburn was a perfect storm, the game this week is too

- LSU is deflated emotionally and physically after a two-week buildup that ended in a heartbreaking fashion. They're spent. And once again they're hit with the crushing reminder that they aren't good enough to beat Bama, after convincing themselves otherwise.

- The Coach O mystique is gone. Where there was once excitement now lies uncertainty.

- After blowing their entire wad, they have to travel to Arkansas for a primetime night game.

- It's senior night for Arkansas.

- We're coming off a big win against a top 10 opponent and we have some momentum.

- Our defense found its balls and had great success stopping the run.

- Trump 2016.

- O line is looking better.

I could go on and on. The point is our game against Auburn set up horribly, and Lsu's game against us sets up badly for them too. I'm thinking we blow them out honestly.

Another important factor is Florida is very similar to LSU scheme wise. I think we are going to have a harder time moving the ball but if our defense plays like it did against Florida than I feel very good about our chances.

LSU is miles ahead of Florida talent wise though.

I really expect us to lose this game on paper. LSU will have to be flat or just coached by an idiot (very very real possibilities) for us to win. Their strengths mesh too well with our weaknesses.

Maybe they are, but the way both teams have played and the quality of teams they've beaten, they're mirror images, except Florida has the better defense.

Our terrible rushing defense ranking and stats are sort of a misnomer.

We've been gashed by the run when facing spread teams who run the ball well or who have good running QBs (e.g. TCU, A&M, Alabama, Auburn). Traditional pro sets and I forms are a different story.

I have a lot better idea who is going to be president elect on Wednesday than I have of what Arkansas will look like this Saturday.

This is very much a Jekyll-Hyde team, but we do seem to play more like Dr. Jekyll when we play a pro style offense like florida or lsu.

LSU's defense looked impressive holding bama scoreless through most of the game until they finally wore out.

That's the one thing that concerns me. As odd as it sounds, we've never really handled "success" well in the Bielema era, and we're extremely bipolar.

We almost lose to Louisiana Tech and proceed to beat TCU on the road.

We start the 2015 season ranked and then drop two embarrassing losses in a row to Toledo and Texas Tech, after which we proceed to thrash Tennessee in Knoxville.

We creep up into the rankings this year only to get blasted by A&M. We get run over by Bama, then beat Ole Miss, follow that up by getting annihilated by Auburn, after which we crush a top 10 Florida team.

I don't know what to think, but Bert better have this team ready to fricking play this week and not patting itself on the back.

That's the thing, Bama was their Super Bowl and they had two weeks to get ready for it mentally and physically, only to get beat again in a heartbreaker. I highly doubt they'll be able to muster that much energy a week later on the road against a hostile crowd.

Personally i'm with her. It's time we owned the refs and few recruits.

If Trump loses, I can't wait to head to the Political Board. I can't even imagine the level of melt of there.

About this game: I have no idea what to expect. LSU has been all over the map, just like us. I completely agree with Stonehog's analysis re: emotions though, I'm just a bit more cautiously optimistic. PTSD of being a Hog fan probably.

Would love to see it for sure. Then sit back and wait for the excuses about how the game doesn't matter to them and on and on. I want three in a row bad.

LSU plays to the strong points of our defense. Smith and company have built our defense to defend a pro style team and its the offense that Smith is most comfortable calling a defense against.

While LSU has some talent I like our chances. My biggest concern, and I know this will sound dumber then a bag of hammers, is that our defense shuts down LSU once again and that Robb Smith manages to keep his job for another year as a result.

He's a good guy by all accounts and he really is rock solid when it comes to defending a pro style system... but right now we will probably face one or two teams running that system in the SEC and OOC per season.

Everybody is running the hurry up spread just like everyone was running the wishbone back in the day. And like back in the day we need a DC who knows how to stop the offense we are going to see most often during the season.
