In the late 80's early 90's who was the central Arkansas basketball coach that hated Nolan and sent his players to ole miss?

Am I making up a memory because I am sick of Bolding or did that happen?

Dang beebe, that's called recent to us "older" gents.
Sorry, don't know anything about C A, but you did make me snicker.

Ripley or Flannigan? Flannigan's son Wes wasn't recruited by Nolan and ended up at Auburn. I think he had another son or a nephew that ended up at Ole Miss. He's still at Parkview and Arkansas has gotten Beard and Ross from there recently though.

Most of those guys that went to Ole Miss weren't recruited by Arkansas.

That was later.

And revisionist history is attached to it.

They weren't recruited because McD AAs and nationally higher ranked players were signed over them for their positions. Rob took them at Ole Miss and beat Nolan with them (their NBA finals) and all the sudden it was how Nolan missed on the obvious instate talent. Same with Derek Fisher who apparently everyone missed on.

He is thinking about Parkview in the late 80s early 90s, the had three decent prospects and one major one who is said to have been steered away from Arkansas while Nolan wasn't welcomed to recruit Parkview players.

I'm not that old, I just know the stories.

I can't recall the Parkview players names, but IIRC, guys like Mayberry, Day, and Miller were signed over them.

The only one that I recall Arkansas offering was Quincy Lewis. That was in the early or mid 90s and he went to Minnesota. The others were good players, but not on the level of what Arkansas was signing at the time. Dion Cross had a solid career at Stanford, but he was in Corliss and Scotty's class. Wes was in the next class when Arkansas signed Kareem Reid, Lee Wilson and Darnell Robinson. Clint Thomas was a 91 graduate and wen to Missouri State I believe and we all know about Fisher.

The main two that people bitched about from Ole Miss were the kid from Perryville and Jason Harrison. IIRC Harrison was going to Henderson until Henderson's coach was hired at Ole Miss and took Harrison with him. The year that the kid from Perryville (Keith Carter?) came out Arkansas had the top class in the country.
