wait for it.....

"It's a slippery slope to the bitter end,"

"We'll end up like them people," he said, pointing toward Fayetteville, 28 miles to the west.

"I was hoping we'd be the only one in the state that didn't have one,"

a

"There's not very many places you go these days that you don't run into a stoplight."

"These people down here still want the small-town setting," said White. "It's almost a Mayberryish idea -- a place that time forgot. They don't want red lights. But there's really no place that we need one."

"People don't like change of any kind. I don't care how good it is".

and then there is this

"We've got some people in town who don't like Christmas, hate Easter and can't stand weekends,"

"We're ready to move on into the 21st century."

I don't know about hillbilly or even care, but 10 years of Dallas traffic has sucked years off my life and that sounds pretty damn good to me right about now.

No reason to make fun of them. To each their own.

Some people love small towns. I don't blame them. I was raised in a small town. Was a great experience. Sort of prefer mine to be in a small school/town now that I think about it.

I understand and respect the small-town mentality. It's one of the underappreciated perks of living in Arkansas. But it's one stop light. I'm pretty sure that not only still qualifies the town as small, but keeps them in the running for some kind of small town Mensa, where only the smallest 2% in the country can belong. The article is borderline Onion-esque, I have a hard time believing this is even real. How do you have so little going on in your life that this is even a blip on the radar?

These are the same kinds of people who built underground shelters for Y2K. No reason to make fun of them, my arse.

Nah they just closed them all down remembers?

Also Anderson's can fill the void.

I say give them a roundabout thingy to confuse them before a stop light.
