For the first 3 seasons all the talk was "his style won't win on the road" followed by "I'll show up to watch the home games when they win on the road".

In the past 5 seasons his team has won more road games than the previous 10 years combined by the program.

Now the goal posts is moved to sweet 16s by many of these same people.

Of course these same people will confuse seeing the direction the program is heading and the stability of the program now compared to then by others as them being satisfied where the program is at currently.

It isn't.

It is pointless to talk about signature wins when the name on the front of the jersey means more to people than the team the fills them...

SCAR isn't the best team Arkansas has beat this season...

Do tell

Tell me which team we beat was ranked higher than 21st?

Or maybe USCe shouldn't be ranked at 21

They shouldn't be ranked or have been ranked. They got the benefit of beating some bad teams that were ranked in Michigan and cuse befor losing to seton hall, Clemson, Memphis.

They lost back to back home games now the other to Bama.

This isn't a team that will still be in the tourney after the first weekend.

They really remind me of the SMU team that was ranked in the top 25 to end the year before going for the NIT a few years ago.

In their defense Thornwell was out for several of those

well...Yeah. that's how things work with coaches In sports. Expectations rise after a certain amount of time. Do you think it was moving the goalpost when the people who said they would be happy with a 7-6 season in 2014 aren't so happy with a 7-6 2016? Mikes been here 6 years now, he's not getting paid millions at one of the richest basketball schools in the conference to be on the bubble and get put out in the round of 64.

Goalposts are still the same for me. Make the tournament. Cinderella doesn't have a chance if she doesn't show up to the dance.

Its just one game. This one game can easily turn into a meaningless win if more wins do not follow it.

So, slow your role. The goal posts haven't moved.

great win last night but his teams don't play defense effectively anymore. occasional hot shooting nights have bailed us out this year

KenPom's four factors for defense:

Rank 103 in the NCAA in effective FG%
rank 182 in the NCAA in defensive turnover %
rank 314 in the NCAA in opponents Offensive rebound %
rank 294 in the NCAA in FTA/FGA

the rankings on most of these categories will be similar throughout his entire tenure here except for TO% which is where we have fallen off a cliff in the last 2 years.

With a good offense, thats ok if you can rebound or arent fouling a ton through agressive play, but if you are playing so agressively that you get out-rebounded and/or fouling the other team which puts them at the FT line constantly, without forcing turnovers, you are going to have a bad time

National defensive TO% rankings From 2012-2017
(37, 12, 8, 20, 77, 182)

to take it a step further on the defense

going back to his first HC gig at UAB, his teams have always put other teams at the FT line too often, and been horrible at rebounding but it was ok because they forced turnovers. these last two years are by far the worst by a longshot in defensive TO%

his teams' national ranks in defensive TO% from 03-17
(1, 8, 4, 1, 12, 65, 10, 3, 9, 37, 12, 8, 20, 77, 182)

I'm not talking about just last night.

Since Kingsley was a freshman, Arkansas is second in the sec in conference wins.

You will have to go back to the pat Bradley era to find a better 4 year period for the program. Basically the program is back to where it was when the decline started, important step in over coming this decline...

Which only indicates that our program has been a total shitshow.
You're right he has moved the goal posts. Mediocrity is now acceptable for a once elite program.

It's the SEC, winning on the road shouldn't be hard against shite teams. Yes, last night was a big win, but lets not act like we're winning on the road in the Big 12/ACC/Big Ten etc
