at an alumni golf event. I was standing near the putting greens wearing my Hogs polo and a cart drives past me, driver yells "Woo Pig," it was Bielema. got a chance to speak to him later, he's as approachable and likeable as he comes across in the media. had my 2 year old son with me and he was engaging, funny and just a cool guy you could easily see yourself being buddies with. we got a picture with him. and no I did not call him Bert, he's even bigger in person (not fat just a big dude, owns the room he's in, literally and figuratively) anyway, cool story bro, etc, but I was really impressed with him and proud he's our coach.

cool story bro
That doesn't surprise me at all
although I've always considered myself to be an excellent judge of character.
Took a couple of failed marriages to really get good at it though.

Did he have beer with him and did he offer you one?

Bielema just sort of seems to fit in here. He's authentic. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, but you know he isn't just giving you the glad handed coach speak. I think, more then any other Southern state, Arkansas responds more to someone who says what they think.

I like the guy. He's witty, smart and all hog.

bullshite he absolutely does that. Especially in spring ball. Every player is an all world talent

I mean before injuries decimated our roster last season, his take on our team probably would have been more spot on.
Without the injuries people wouldn't have been so offended by the smoke blowing because we likely don't come out flat.
Eta before last spring/summer I don't recall him doing much if any smoke blowing.

Can't imagine the same thing happening with BMFP.

What do you want him to say after Spring ball? He isn't going to go up there and ruin the summer workouts by tearing everyone a new public a-hole.
What the coach says to the players in private to motivate them is what counts.

aside from the oline being over touted i can't think of who/what else he's praised that highly. in fact, there's been a few times where i thought he was maybe even a little the opposite, referencing ac3 with that.

I'm fine with him pumping them up in spring ball. But don't say he always keeps it 100, because it's either one or the other
