It's pretty obvious that Smith is gone so who do we go with? Any up and comers look promising? Go with the experienced guy in Rhodes?

Is Rhodes even interested in the D.C. job?

This is getting as bad as Shannon being "slapped in the face" by not bring offered he D.C. job by two separate hcs here... he didn't want the job...

As an outside the box hire, I wouldn't mind us looking at Tom Allen. I was impressed with him at Ole Miss as their LB coach and he's done a phenomenal job in his two years as an FBS DC at USF and Indiana. He might be someone to kick the tires on if the obvious choices aren't an option.

If Rhoads wants it, let him have it. If he doesn't and LSU makes a complete staff change, offer the house to Aranda first and make him say no.

If Charlie String is fired offer him a job back in his home state.

Jim Leavitt will be in high demand.

I was hoping his and Bert's time at Kstate overlapped but Bielema was brought in right after Leavitt took the USF job.

There's a decent chance MacIntyre gets another job after his run with CU so Leavitt could be back in the market.

I want a coach that hasn't made his bread and butter from beating pro style teams.

The sec no longer has any pro style teams besides us. The other 2 or 3 teams are an embarrassment to offense so they don't count.

I want a coordinator who makes adjustments and can scheme against a spread which most teams are.

I figure our first choice might be to promote Rhodes. If we do that here are some guys I'd like to see replace him as secondary coach.

Lorenzo Ward is also available lol. Was the DC at Fresno State but they have a HC opening.

I want Steve Caldwell back coaching the DL.

Partridge, we didn't see at DC. He may have jumped early for that FAU job, it'd be nice to have his S. Florida connections again as he's more of a team player than Randy Shannon who I honestly believe is gay and recruits Miami w/ his dating life in mind (at least he did here).

Smith's scheme works well when he's got the personnel to run it. He's had shite to work with at LB which is where his scheme needs playmakers. Scoota, Greenlaw and hopefully Pool and Ramsey can give him what's needed at LB.

Smith and Seigrist can pack their shite tommorow, they recruit shitty players and that shows on the field by piss poor tackling.

How many years have we had shitty LB's?

Too many years and I've quit counting

which is why I proposed trying to fix it through the walk on program by ID'n 3 stud athletes in states, giving them lotto schollys and redshirting them giving them 2 years to beast out in the weight room and learn how to be LBrs.

If we brought in 3 potential physical freaks a year we could certainly get production from a couple guys 3-4 years into the process. We hang onto players that give us nothing (Kody Walker, Josh Williams, Duwop (he's done btw), Brandon Lewis, the Hawaiian Guard, etc)

Both Williams and Duwop are starters on special teams. They fill a role that is needed.
