Les Miles is about to get fired/quit... he has averaged about 10 wins a season, the past 11 years, along with a National Championship. I am a hog fan, deep and true, but even I feel sorry for him, if he is in fact getting fired.

Yet, there is no definite word that he is getting fired (or at least not that I have heard).

What is your opinion on this issue? Is he getting canned, or quitting? Feel sorry, or happy to see him go?

LSU thinks they're Bama. They are about to find out they're not. Do feel like Les is getting a raw deal but he is gonna get paid so I dont feel bad for him

If I was a coach I wouldn't want to go there. Constantly worried about having 1 bad season and getting fired.

eta: I expect the buyout to be outrageous.

This whole thing is turning into a clown show and Les deserves better IMO. While I don't think he deserves to be pushed out, I do believe the game is passing him by. With the amount of talent they pull in every year there's few excuses for them to not be in contention for a title more often than not.

LSU might be set back a decade from this.

And that makes me

His staff and he have been giving innuendos in public that they will be fired Sunday.

It is similar to Nutt's last week here, I'm not sure if Miles will be looking to take another job, however.

Yeah, I hate LSU but I've always liked Miles and have felt he's gotten somewhat of a raw deal from LSU fans over the years.

They measure him against Saban, yet up until the last year or two he's been the only SEC head coach who'd had any semblance of success against Saban's Alabama teams, though Freeze has that crown now.

That 2011 team would have gone down as one of the GOAT teams if not for Alabama getting a mulligan, because they would've trounced Oklahoma State.

les is a victim of the high paying meat grinder that is the SEC. when coaches are paid like they are in the SEC, expectations are high. problem is there has to be a loser in every game that doesn't meet those expectations. it's a vicious cycle and les appears to be the latest victim.

fans in the SEC should realistically expect at least a bowl game every year, with a run at a national title every so often. every coach in the SEC west right now can accomplish that. It is damn near impossible to sustain better.

the delusion is strong at lsu

Or with the right coach, could knock Bama off of that top spot for years to come.

Terrible idea! They need to give him instructions to go recruit a few quarterbacks who are not run option QB's.

Hopeful thinking: that way, bama would be knocked off, and we would have the timely chance to knock LSU off the top too (since we seem to play against them really well each year).

Not going to make a thread about this, but the Tigers are looking at the sun.

I can't either, but then again I was 100% convinced that Harbaugh would stay in the NFL after leaving the 49ers and not back to Michigan. Who knows.

However, LSU is taking an enormous gamble if Miles is indeed gone. You'd better have Jimbo or another damn good coach lined up and ready to sign if you're going to fire the winningest coach in your school's history simply because he can't beat Bama.

It will be majestic when Les wins tonight, and LSU fans realize Jimbo is their Gruden.

If I were a coach no way would I go near that. Expectations are unrealistic

I won take their money though, so there's that
