I saw that. I'm glad that Anderson and the paramedic were there to help that fellow out when he needed it.

Oh man, that guy just had a car accident. Better go help him then tweet about how I helped him and about how bad his injury was, should add in a prayer emoticon and hashtag for good measure.

Sorry, but I hate how most people use twitter.

Seriously though, what's the point of tweeting that other than making sure everyone knows what a great thing you did and how you're such a Christain? I saw the thread and was like "that's awesome!" Clicked the link expecting to see a story on a news site about it; thought the story would come from the guy in the accident or the paramedic who arrived on scene, but instead got more twitter trash from someone saying "look at me " which passes as "news" these days.

Yeah man maybe if he had a job where his public image and twitter persona mattered, it would have made sense.

edit: also something about how social media is definitely not there to talk about significant and noteworthy events that happened in your life. It's only there to upload pictures of that mundane meal you ate at a mediocre restaurant and share videos of farting dogs or whatever

I kinda get your point- call someone and say holy shite guess what just happened to me and then explain the situation. Allow the other person to tweet about you being a hero, then you reply with aww shucks it was nothing and people think wow what a man what a man what a mighty fine man. Be the humble hero.

I get why he does it, I just find it in poor taste. I'd prefer to leave the self righteous bull shite to Hugh Freeze and the like.

And if "twitter persona" is now something people should care about, please shoot me.

Exactly. People just don't have tact anymore.

I'm pretty sure that recruits and their families would probably care about knowing that Anderson acted selflessly to help another human in need.

Sharing about something like that is a pretty normal thing for a person to do, and social media is the easiest way to share experiences these days.
