Anyone find it hilarious that we have struggled to reach the end zone on kickoffs for 2-3 years and our former punter sam irwin hill, is handling kickoffs for the cowboys right now and putting them into the end zone?

Our backup QB may end up punting for us. Nothing about Arkansasn special teams surprises me.

Y'all member when Zack Hocker would kick it out the end zone every time and nail 45 yd FGs with ease? Or Joe Adams returning punts for TDs? I member.

if a dude is too lazy to get on a fricking treadmill for 45 mins a day when your still twice as big as your 9 month pregnant wife, what the frick makes you think he's going to p9ut in the work to get special teams right

Analytics would say your better of to kick to the 1 or 2 yard line every time, you have a better chance at a turn over, or bettering field position, versus giving them the ball at the 25.
Arkansas is one of a handful of teams who spends money to have analytics available each week for each game.
Its the opposite of the "3 things happen when you pass the ball and 2 of them are not good" logic.

Well we aren't kicking them high and to the 2. And we don't cover well so obviously his analytics isn't working troll better next time

Isn't he missing an acl? Treadmill doesn't seem to be an option for him

Its hard to deny that special teams have not been very special under Bert and co. and its cost us in some games.
Whether it is the prep work they get during game week or just that his recruits in the kicking game, some of who were highly ranked, have fizzled once they reached campus special teams has been a liability for us.
With, I should say, Sam Irwin Hill being a notable exception. We need to recruit Australia more heavily it would appear.

Wonder how much worse our teams would have been without it? Do we only pay them for first half analysis?

Eating less would be a nice start.

Actually I should amend what I said before. Toby Baker did fine as a punter for us. So our punting has been solid, but our FGs and kickoffs have been, for the most part, miserable.

I'd pay to have Sam Irwin Hill and Hocker back on our roster.
Member when we had Tejada as our only FG kicker? Those were interesting times.

Indeed. Sometimes a lot more so then I would have cared for.

Yep. Most teams are trying to kick high and just to the goal line to play for field position. It's worse now that teams start at the 25.
I'd still rather just have touchbacks though. To me the risk of a big return or an injury is much bigger than saving a few yards here and there.

Analytics are useless if you don't have the tools. Bert should know if we have the tools.
