The no punt/onside kick all the time is a bit scary for the ultra-conservative gents who wind up as ADs. Given how bad some teams have been and will likely continue to be you would think someone would say "Why not?" and give him a shot, but most ADs are too worried it will make them look bad if things don't work out.

I can say KK is not exactly loved by most coaches in the state. Winning state titles with the ability to hand pick players is easy. I don't even think he would succeed at a public school.... much less college.

A step up in competition would mean special teams that are more prepared, tougher defensive schemes on 4th down, and teams that will punish you with a short field. He would get killed.

Not punting makes sense in a division where the average punt is like 20 yards.
