I have quite a few friends in Fayetteville who happen to be lesbian. By and large they tend to be really nice people who are thrilled to be living in a community that doesn't shun them. You know, maybe women don't hate you because they are lesbians, but because you are an arsehole.

You'd be hard pressed to find anyone more open-minded than myself in NWA. I fully believe in letting people live as they wish in whatever manner makes them the happiest. No one has a right to persecute another based off how they live as long as it's within the laws of the land and not too far off from the social norms society has deemed for the greater good.
I too have gay friends, I've lived with gay folks, I socialize with gays often. I'm still not above making an anonymous joke at their expense that I often use w/ my gay friends regarding the BFF.
I'd much rather have an organic pride festival every month than this horseshite that is pushed down our throats that is the BFF and preached down to us as a community stating that we're not diverse and NWA is redneck, retard central.
We have one of the most diverse communities outside of any international class city in North America, having Hollywood outsiders tell the world different doesn't set well with me.

Getting too hung up on labels leads to stuff like this. She wasn't 100% into vag and 0% into dick, but if she mostly identified as a lesbian, then cool. Let her call herself a lesbian for as long as she think the word applies.
I'm certain that there are some lesbians who are just not interested in a dick.

there's a certain challenge and mystique in pursuing girls that like girls too.
The chick that's my kindred spirit told friends that she'd give up girls for me. She wanted to have a baby and same-sex couples have a terrible time adopting, especially here in the south.
I considered an arrangement, but her longtime GF and her had such a dysfunctional relationship full of drama I decided it best for me to not be in the middle of their BS and especially to not introduce a kid into it.
I'm pretty sure she'd have chosen to have a traditional family in the end but I know in her heart she's a rebel and normalcy only lasts so long before the wild eyes appear again.
