We all know Bret gets up for this game. I feel like we will put together a solid game plan to be able to have a chance in the fourth quarter. IMO, this game hinges on one thing considering we show up and play the game I know we can.....CONTAINING THE QB RUN!
A win here would give our team a huge boost in confidence going into a brutal stretch and shake up the west. I believe we can win this game, but we shall see.

My heart is telling me we can win, but my heart is a dumbass so what does it know.

I have convinced myself that we will win this game. I was also convinced that we would beat Texas A&M this year too.

It's a winnable game. We're good enough to win all of our remaining games. It's not a likely win though, so just sit back and enjoy the football :)

No question that the hogs are good enough to win this game.

If we play a game where we don't take a whole quarter off, or unravel on defense after one bad play for the rest of the drive, and find a way to get a push on short yardage situations... then we have a real shot.
Smith's tendency of late to leave the middle of the field cleared out could cost us big time so hopefully that won't happen during the game.
If we play like we did against A&M then we lose badly, if we play like we did in the first half against TCU then I like our chances to pull off the biggest win in Bert's tenure here.

I have always thought we had a better chance of beating Bama this year than A&M.

This, especially the part in bold.
I'm much more optimistic about this team now than I was six weeks ago, mainly because we've been very good at the quarterback and tailback positions (two big questionable areas in preseason) and the defense has played pretty well save for a few forehead-slapping moments. However, we have to string together 4 solid quarters against a team like Alabama with the depth they have on both sides of the ball. We can't frick around and shite the bed for a half like we did against La. Tech and A&M, or a quarter like we did against TCU. We could be 5-0 right now if we'd have been able to take advantage of goal line opportunities against A&M; inversely, we could just as easily be 2-3.
The thing that really concerns me about their offense is Hurts's ability as a runner. We've always had problems defending mobile quarterbacks.

To move to the next level we have to be able to shut down a running QB. If we can do it in this game we have a great shot. If we can't then we need Austin Allen and company to have a GOAT game.
That is what makes this game so bad. I know we can win if we can do the things we need to do. This isn't a stroll in, take your beating, and walk away game. We can win this. If we play like we can for four quarters.

I'm preparing to be 4-2 and listening to incessant bitching for a week straight about how terrible we are. Until we chew up the rest of our schedule and we're back to great again. 8-4 9-3 is a reality and it takes losses to get us there. It's still a successful season in a strong division.

I think the key will be our running game and if they can get anything going so that Austin can open it up. Their confidence has to be high after all of them playing well yesterday. Hopefully it translates to yards.
Also no dumbass mistakes like fumbling on the 1 yard line and missing extra points.

Ya and it doesn't help when we have posters that enjoy when we lose

Not feeling very confident due to OL and red zone issues. Not to mention wide open lanes on defense and our kicking woes.
I feel like this will end up like the Tamu game where we start out looking like we can compete and then we lose focus and make some costly mistakes.
I hope I'm wrong. Thankfully we've moved up to 16 and barring a complete blow out, we should stay ranked.

My Kool aide doesn't have enough sugar. I see this as a L, and will always until they prove otherwise. It's not the end of the world, and will happily be surprised if I'm wrong. We just don't have a championship caliber team this year. Sorry, I'm not sorry for saying it. 8-4/9-3 is a pretty freaking sweet year in the SECw with our talent IMO.

We are a run first team with a OL guru who can't score from the 1 yard line

I feel like this will look like last year offensively. We won't run the ball at all on this bama defense.
I'm worried as we haven't actually stopped the run that well. I just see this being like the A&M game and us hang around for 3 quarters and fall apart in the 4th. Like last year's game. We just don't have the depth to win this game.

Pretty much what I expect as well. We don't have the horses to hang with Bama for four quarters.

I think we have a chance.... but we need a perfect game and honestly we need them to make a few uncharacteristic mistakes. If that happens we will pull off the upset.
