and DVH was not letting him do his job?

Wichita St is sitting at 12-20 and is hitting .269 as a team with only 9 Homeruns. I see he took that elite hitting to WSU with him.

I know we miss his recruiting, even though Vitello is better.

We started to suck balls with him, now we suck balls without him.

The constant: DVH.

So let's just get rid of DVH and hire another coach..

Should be a huge waiting list..

Butler was awful as a coach, we all know that. Tards like UH forget what we were like in baseball pre-DVH in the 90's. If schools like SCar and LSU can struggle and miss the tournament once in a blue moon, we need to quit acting like the ship is sinking. We're young with no consistent pitching. Just take the season for what it is and quit melting. You don't fire the coach that led you to 13 straight tournament appearances over one bad season. Our hitting is leaps and bounds better, but our pitching is young and inexperienced. We'll be fine.

Its amazing how the same arguments to keep DVH are the same as made to keep Houston Nutt...

DVH has the best facilities available to him in the SEC/Nation, he isn't being paid peanuts either.

He needs to deliver more than mediocrity to justify the total investment made into him and his program.

In regard to success, I'm not sure DVH and Nutt are on the same level.

Agree.

He's cashed it in this year.

Time for a change. He is the Rick Barnes of college baseball.

We've blamed assistants the last few years, he made changes. Now we have the worst team in 10 years.

He's made it to the CWS 3 times since he's been at Arkansas. Your hero, Mike Anderson, will never see that type of success (and I'm a CMA fan)

Apples/oranges.

Every school cares enough about basketball to have a team, baseball? Not so much.

LOL so making the CWS (8 teams) with a coach that made the CWS multiple times at his previous stop, is an accomplishment? I'm pretty sure when we hired DVH and spent 50 million in facility upgrades we were hoping for more than "we made the CWS a few times" over 15 years. Believe it or not, there was a time in the mid 2000's that many thought this program was going to win a national title or two. LMAO.

List of Dave Van Horn accomplishments include 1 SEC title in 2004, and 3 CWS trips, in 14 years, with more money put into program than 99.95% of the country. This will be his 4th losing season in the SEC.

The burner is on high, and he will get 1 more year, even if he shouldn't after this disaster of a year.

How many times did Nutt make it to a BCS bowl? DVH has had us in the top 8, hell, the top 4 multiple times. It would be ridiculously stupid to let go of a coach that has brought what he has over one bad season with a REALLY young team. We're recruiting well enough that these kinds of years won't come around often, but even teams like LSU miss the tournament if they lose enough from the prior year's squad. We lost our entire weekend rotation, our closer, and our best hitter, and our captain. Most of us expected to struggle this year. Now that the struggles have started people what DVH's head? That's not how it works. Our hitting was the issue last year. We made the change and our hitting has improved drastically. The downside is that now we don't have the pitching to support it. It's the exact flip-flop of last year. Let the pitching earn their stripes and we'll be fine by next year. We have the talent, it's just young. Just accept the rebuilding year and quit melting over the expected result.

LMFAO.

If LSU lost in the regionals back to back years then had a losing season the next year, their coach would be fired. And he's won a national title.

If you're happy with Dave Van Horn right now, you are a terrible fan. He has done nothing at Arkansas in 15 years and now he's falling apart at the seams.

You should actually try turning on a game and see how poorly this team is coached. Thank god they got that 10 million dollar indoor facility, yet they are the worst baserunning and bunting team in DVH's career. Not to even mention Van Horn single-handedly losing multiple games this season misusing his bullpen and being clueless as to when to make a pitching change (Last night, Vanderbilt game 1).

And if you think the pitchers we have on the staff right now are going to magically turn into studs next year and we'll be CWS bound, you're delusional, outside of McKinney the talent isn't there anymore, starting rotation wise or in the bullpen, it's why we can't even beat scrub teams midweek anymore who throw equally as young pitchers.

There are 298 Division 1 baseball teams and 346 Division 1 basketball teams. Let's not pretend that the bottom 48 teams in college basketball have any impact on the probability of Arkansas making the Elite 8

Wrong. LSU missed the tournament completely then got stony brook'd and his seat was never even close to warm. DVH has taken teams that weren't even ranked in any polls at all to the final four of the CWS. He's a good coach. Teams that shouldn't be good under him are. Sure we had the disappointment of being #1 preseason, but that's more on the media hyping up a team with no returning offense than anything.
