It is when you have only Memorial and Rupp (who is getting a huge renovation this summer I think) without substantial renovations since BWA was built.
Think about in the past 10 years how many schools have renovated major or built new arenas.

We're just too short handed.
However, Kingsley, Hannah (for the most part), Durham and Bell are playing better than I expected they would.
Hoping the JUCO's are the missing pieces for next year.
Got to get some young help in here too.

Sports media has really been turning on Mike and his crappy recruiting, specifically that he lets all these instate prospects leave the state for other SEC schools, without even offering or recruiting a lot of them. That's fine if the players you're getting are better and you're having success, but when our lack of talented bodies is clearly an issue, it warrants criticism.

They should turn on him, as a lot of fans are starting to turn the same direction.
The state of Arkansas produces plenty of talent to support a solid program. Just this recruiting cycle, we saw Malik Monk sign out of state. Last season, it was Kevaughn Allen.
Its like Mike focuses on coaching then remembers, "Oh yea, Ive gotta recruit also" type of mentality. I keep pointing to what we lost off of last years team and him not being prepared and only signing one kid who made it to campus. Though, he only signed two, which still isn't good enough when you have 5 leaving.
This season, he has signed a few four star kids, but the problem is their only two year transfer players. None of been in the system before, so as a coach, he has no clue how the kids will shake out in this program. If Kingsley keeps improving, he will likely leave for the NBA. It is a weak year in college of the potential talent that could be entering the draft. That puts Mike depending on Trey Thompson as his only seasoned SEC down low guy.
I just don't understand his recruiting tactics, or style, or whatever. Someone on his staff is weak as shite at recruiting. MA has proven over the years that he will not make changes on his staff, which is absurd.
I am not wanting Mike fired right now, but IMO he gets another season. Though, he needs to make some staff changes, because they cannot recruit for shite. If he does not make any staff changes, that speaks to me as if he thinks everything is just fine, and it isn't.
MA took this job knowing damn well expectations would be through the roof with him being back. It is his own fault if he gets fired.

Criticism deserved
But not sure why people are upset with having a down year when we've known it would happen for awhile.

Think of it like your day job. You have a guy on your team who doesn't get the job done and you can see it coming. Does it make you less upset when he bombs the presentstion? No you're still upset as a part of you was hoping he'd pull it together.

This is why we are having a bad season.
How long do you think MA knew he had 3 seniors leaving last year? How long do you think he knew Portis was leaving for the NBA?
Qualls I can excuse as possibly a legit surprise.
Still, bringing in one player to replace all those lost is inexcusable.

How many we losing this year? 2 or 3?
Posted on 2/14/16 at 11:17 am to oklahogjr
Losing 4 seniors this season...(2016)
Durham, Bell, Koaussi, and Miles
Lost 2 seniors, 2 juniors, 1 transfer, 1 kicked off last season...(2015)
Madden, Harris, Portis, Qualls, and Babb...Unknowingly lost Jacorey Williams
In 2015 Mike signed and enrolled (1)one player, Jimmy Whitt to replace 5 departures...3 of which were known, 1 of which(Qualls) people started to figure out towards the end of the season.

I don't know how hard he recruited Allen, but I also don't know what else he could have done in recruiting Monk.
Seems like most posters weren't that high on Allen back when he was a senior. I was. Argued with a bunch of folks that we needed him.
ETA: Other than those two, I'm not recalling any other instate players that we 'let get away'. Who am I not remembering that mattered?

Are we bringing in more than the 3 juco players? Seems like we will be even more short handed next season just with some potential talent instead of luke warm bodies.

We didn't offer Peyton Willis (Vandy) or Smith out of Van Buren (Mizzou) this year. And maybe they don't fit into his system or whatever, but I don't think anyone is overly impressed with his "system" currently.
He gets a pass (and really some credit this year) for the teams performance, but this is the final year of patience for me.

Archie Goodwin, IJ Ready, Malik Monk, Kevaughn Allen, Eric Curry, Mitchell Smith, Payton Willis
Seeing those kids leave the state bothers me a bit. Especially when we are so short handed on quality depth right now.
I still don't understand why this staff does not try to use Todd Day and others to get back into Memphis. Last recruiting cycle, Memphis alone had a 5* and 3-4* players. The area also had three others who were rated a 3* that signed with Memphis(x2) and Fordham.
