Is it the WR's or has Austin regressed?

The word out of camp was they were both great.

I feel like Austin was off. Never shook it off. I'm not sure he trusts these receivers as much as he says. I feel like he will get a lot better next week. He has to or we get blown out.

I watched nance's film. I knew he would be good. He was. I watched the short time Martin was in. That dude is fricking huge, and fast. He needs to get the play book down now. Deon was underwhelming. So was pettway. Our future playmakers are the juco kids and the freshman.

Who is #80 with the dreads.

I just want to say that I think the most talented bunch is jones/Martin/ nance/Hammonds/jcorn at slot. Those 5 need to step up and take over our starting receiver group. Pettway and deon did not look like next level players

Austin had a bad game. Didn't even see multiple wide open receivers who could have scored had he thrown the ball to them.

On the other hand Pettway had a play that made me furious. When it was 3rd and short and Austin delivered a perfect ball, but Pettway thought he was gonna get hit and he gator-armed at the last second. He would have scored on that play if he didn't puss out and flinch. Bielema brought it up in the postgame presser. Pettway has to be tougher if he wants to play, that was a huge missed opportunity that we can't afford to blow against real competition.

Was there really 40 mph winds last night? Was it constant or just occasionally?

Bert had baked beans at the Golden Corral buffet. Whenever he felt the need, the stadium felt 40 mph winds.

stewart will be okay by the time he's a senior

pettway is a football player who is afraid of contact. looks like tarzan, plays like jane

jones is just an utter disappointment. but he got that bama offer tho

the funny thing is, the lowest of the three, stewart, is the only one with a noticble tangible asset. he's a legit burner. you ain't catching him if he gets a step on you.

I'm not sure what you seen. I seen multiple times Jones open and Austin didn't throw it to him.

Deon does not jump off the screen at all. Warren's speed did. Nance did. I have no idea what you seen that no one else did.

It never felt like 40 where I was sitting.
Crowd wasn't dead until the game was well in hand.
In fact, the ones that were there were quite vocal.

Jones is a redshirt freshman who has exactly one game under his belt. Also, he was wide open on a skinny post and Allen simply didn't see him.

How is he a disappointment?

I haven't rewatched the game yet but I thought Austin looked uncomfortable. Even taking the snap and his footwork while setting up to throw just looked off.

Another thing was he didn't seem to move well in the pocket. At a certain point he has to know that he needs to either get rid of the ball or move and manipulate the pocket. I'm not saying he needs to scramble necessarily but he had a tendency to just find a spot and stand there, which led to him taking unnecessary hits. It's such an underrated ability but feeling where the pressure is coming from and subtle movements to adjust for it is so important.

They talked about how he has a new stance with his leg further back this year so I wonder if he's not comfortable with it yet

Ya that same guy said Whaley didn't jump off the screen and that is total horse shite. Dude has a burst, just not Hayden burst.

I think he just doesn't trust any of these new faces. He just needs to let the ball fly

I also want to point out that even though lsu's qb didn't miss many throws. Their run game actually didn't look dominant. Byu looked small, and out matched. They started biting on the PA early because their backs are trucks just bulldozing people. I actually seen them get hit at LOS a bunch of times. Bigger stronger teams will stuff them. In fact they got stuffed at the goal line late.

Right now they are crowing saying how awesome they are. I bet they are bad on offense again in league play.

Auburn actually has road graders. The issue is stidham had bad pocket awareness. They didn't pass block well. I still think behind bama it's open for us to make a run. Just have to get a freshman corner to step up, and our offense to gel, get a leader at WR.
