I think we should throw the Auburn game.

If we win, Gus is back on the hotseat and they'll probably fire him at the end of the year and maybe hire someone half arse competent.

If we throw the game, they'll keep him around. Gus goes absolutely fricking mental after an Arkansas loss because he wants our job so badly.

Losing would put us at 5-3 and with still a great shot to win out and go 9-3 in the regular season and get a 10th win in a bowl.

If we beat them, we might finish 10-2 and go for 11-2 in a bowl.. but then Auburn would have a new coach next year.

It might be in our long term interests to drop this game and let Gus continue to drag Auburn down into irrelevance.

Even if we don't let's use this as our excuse if Aubie does beat us.

Their last 4 coaching hires were as follows:
- a Division I-AA coach
- an SEC rival coach who was barely over .500
- a coach who was 5-19 at Iowa State
- a Sun Belt coach with one year of HC experience and a few years removed from high school

Never trust Auburn to make a competent football hire. Top candidates aren't lining up to go play little brother to Alabama and get a fraction of their media coverage and fan support.

Posting to save my space for Saturday- may want to edit and update sometime around the 4th quarter.

I'd prefer someone else take one for the team. That way they keep Malzahn and we win and get to troll Auburn.

Gus is sneaking out Aubies back door at 6-6 or 7-5 or 8-4 anyway

he's going to sneak away in the night
