I love Bielema, but I wish he wouldn't say so much inflammatory shite

article from today about his comments on Ohio State's schedule: SDS

It just invites unnecessary criticism when we're finally starting to play well and getting good press

It's true and it's exactly what people are saying.

There's no reason at all he shouldn't speak his mind especially when what he's saying is 100% truth.

Your ire should be towards these faux-journalist smarks that twist words and print half quotes in improper context to conjour up clickbait.

he's repeating what's been said by plenty of other people all off-season. OSU's SOS is garbage. fairly uncontroversial statements really.

I fail to see the issue here. He's just repeating what folks are already saying. My timeline was blown up yesterday wih folks talking about Bama's and Arkansas' schedule. It's not like it's a big secret. More power to him for speaking his mind and not giving canned answers.

Regardless of how true it is (which it is, not arguing that), he has to know it's going to be viewed as him being whiny, especially when he hasn't won much of anything yet. If he was winning big it'd be a different story.

it's not a big deal though

I view it the direct opposite. Who is better to speak on it than Bielema? He has actually coached in both conferences recently. Wisconsin was basically able to sleep walk to two of the Rose Bowls under him. However, he's recruiting significantly better at Arkansas than he ever did there and could still finish last in his division. He's much more qualified to make that statement than anyone in the country.

Urban Meyer is no dummy...he knows he can nearly sleepwalk to playoff contention

As long as he is speaking truth I have no problem with it. OSU would not make it out of the SEC alive and everyone knows it. Their only chance is to make the playoffs and play well against an SEC team beat up from the gauntlet they had to run to get there.
Meyer knows it's true.

Agreed.

He was owning the Big Ten for years, and he comes to the SEC and proceeds to lose his first 13 conference games.

Meanwhile Meyer barely scraped an 8-5 record in 2010, goes to the Big Ten and proceeds to not lose a conference game for 3 years.

Coach B speaks the truth, I don't have a problem with it.
I prefer that rather than the sideline antics Petrino put us through.

Bielema has always spoken with candor and frankness. This is what makes him seem genuine to me. I love it

He actually makes me a little uncomfortable sometimes and I don't always agree with him, either. Having said that, he was a marketing major at Iowa, so I suspect he knows exactly what he's doing. It's interesting watching him work, because I'm sure there's an underlying reason for much of it.

Of course he was. How else would the scumbag journalist get him to say that? They need material, and BB is a material vending machine.

Which i absolutely love about the guy

It gets Arkansas in the media. And there's a bit of truth to it. The SEC vs Big10 will be a big storyline this year and the media loves this. There's no harm in stirring the pot.
