no sources just common sense.

We got shot down by patterson. patterosn and miles have the same agent. agent goes to long and says look bro.. I know this is out of left field, but if you are honestly willing to pay this money to a coach.. les miles is not as happy as you would think down there and if you can give him a raise and some security, he'd listen. can't promise you anything above that but he'd listen.

if that is true, i think les really is in play though i really don't want him. i also think patterson is a no go under any circumstnaces.

One day in fayetteville and he's already turned tail on LSU, Baton rouge must be a real shite hole.

I'm going to have to disagree. I think common sense says that Les Miles was never seriously considered. It is just a smokescreen to take the attention off the real guy. Jeff Long didn't get to where he is today by being a retard. Only a retard would hire a retard. Never go full retard. Stay thirsty my friend.

Or maybe just maybe it is to get Bass a bigger raise for pulling off the hire of Patterson. I mean he does get a % of salaries, and between the increase in Patterson & Miles salary it could be a little spending money for Christmas.

That or it gives Long a chance to talk to Patterson's agent directly with the media thinking it is about Miles instead of Patterson.

Meanwhile Miles gets an increase in pay, which effects LSU's budget, makes his agent happy, and helps in negotiations with Patterson...

Maybe he's trying to kick his addiction to the grass and so he wants a school with turf for their home games.

think about it

1. he's been there 8 years.

2/. there is absoutly nothing he can do at this point that will make people think he's an elite coach. if he wins another natty it will be beucase of chavis and the recruiting base, not beucdse he's a bad arse coach. he will and always will be a game manager as long as he's at lsu

3. the fans dont' like him. he's a 6 and 6 season away from getting the slip

4. we would be paying him more and giving him a stupid large buyout.

i assure you he's seriously considering it. in other words, there is no situtation where he either 1. makes 27 milllion dollars over the next 5 years anywhere else and 2. stays at lsu for another 5 years.

i don't think he will come, but to say he is not seriusyl considering it, i can't say that

I don't care how long he has been there. He is not the answer to our problems and Jeff Long isn't that fricking retarded to try and hire the Retard of Louisiana. Les Miles is not coming here and we're not stupid enough to give him a chance.

I like where you're going with this, but I was thinking that it was the other way around:

I thought that Miles was the front. The offer was made to Miles so that he can use it as leverage to get more $ for him and his staff from LSU. Win for the agent..Win for Miles. And then we have an approval in place of a $ amount (approved by the board already so that part is already taken care of) that we can offer Patterson so he now has something to chew on to entice him. $5.50 per is pretty enticing.

It is also out there that this has been offered, so any coach who has a brain has just focused all of their attention on AR and their interest may have just peaked quite a bit more.

Either way...it was a brilliant move by Long. I have to give him props for that.

don't mis understand what i am saying. id on't think he's coming. at the end of the day I think long knows, he has to kill 7-10 days utnil his hire gets here. the best way to kill time is to distract people which is what i think all of this is. i think long offered knowing he wouldn't take but woudl accept if he did.

I'm just saying.. at the very least, it is going to tell les how committed to him lsu is beucase they have to pony up.

wehre shite will get real is if they don't. then it could get interesting.
