I think his DC has fricked him the last two years. Yes it's his hire but as far as in game strategy and player development I think he's pretty good.

Fire away.

Kind of important.

It's been turning into his fault over the course of two years because he has a defensive background. He can take control at any time, and he has not.

So he either isn't smart enough to figure it out, or he isn't that good of a manager to begin with and let's personal feelings get in the way of doing his job.

How is he any different than any previous coaches? That's a trend, it's not going to change no matter who is here. This is a difficult thing for most of our fans to grasp

He should absolutely be held responsible for Robb Smith, totally agree. My point is if he hires a solid D.C. I think we'd be fine

I don't see a Flowers, Spaight, or Philon anywhere. Add any of the numerous elite playmakers NUTT recruited over the years on defense and offense.

I see a bunch of soft, slow arse players on both sides of the ball.

I think if he would hire SEC legacy people that can croot' he'd be a great coach.

But his ego is too big and he only hires random wash ups.

Ellis, perhaps the biggest problem with our defense was recruited by Petrino

Enos was a great hire, Pittman was a good hire. But I agree he needs to hire better coaches overall.

Yeah, certainly Petrino's fault that Bert has literally recruited so shitty that Ellis has been the FOCAL point of our defense.

I don't think that helps your point at all. If anything he's made more plays than anyone on the defense. But he's also fricked up a lot.

Not sure if that's indicative of him, the coaches or the rest of the defense, but it certainly has frick all to do with BMFP.

You mentioned soft and shitty players on defense, Bert isnt the first coach here to have those.

We have as much talent on the DL as we did under Petrino but Sigrist sucks and hasn't done shite with them. He needs to go

Talent isn't an issue in defense. It's coaching. Look at Colorado and Washington. You think they have more talent than us?

I'm still on board for one more year of Bert because I mostly agree with you.

but talent is an issue at safety and depth at cb. Because of that lack of talent we have to play bend don't break but we still get burnt anyway deep. Very problematic against teams that can throw down field(every one in cfb now)

Having said that, at least that's a big focus with the upcoming recruiting class.

We could get into a lot of other things that led to this season disappointing me but predominantly it's weak db talent, Allen holding the ball too long, o-line having no depth(which I still put on Pittman) and Bert being boneheaded at times with critical downs.

I partially blame him for the talent because he has focused on offense and d-line expecting the rest to fall in place but I still believe we are mostly on track.

At the end of the day Im embarrassed by the team but can't blame them for not getting up for the Missouri game. I almost chose not to watch it myself.

Most of them are on the bench and haven't emerged at all.

How many LBs have we flat out whiffed on?

That's kind of my point. We are getting talent but they aren't being coached. It's not like Flowers, Philon and Speight were all American type recruits when they came in
