I had a discussion with my brother about this tonight.

Let's say we hold on to who is committed.

In 2 years from now we will have 3 seniors on the offensive line.

We will have the #1 JUCO TE preparing his last season getting ready to go pro (or that is what the current plan is for him I have heard.) + our current players who will all be RS Jr's mainly.

We will have the #1 JUCO WR in his second year and the dude looks like a stud. + our other guys who will mostly be RS JR'S and Seniors.

We return all of our RB'S who we have now + all new recruits.

The only issue is we will be in cole Kelly's first year as a starter.

On the defensive side of the ball we will have a play maker at every level.

Agim on the line
Greenlaw as SR at linebacker.
Pulley at corner back
Brown at safety (as long as he doesn't decommit. His new OV'S and us not being last worries me)

This is all I really expect from our defense honestly. We won't be bama but if you have a play maker at every level it will still be a good defense. We just aren't a team with a history of great defenses, but this should be what we realistically go for.

Honestly I have given up on bert. I just don't think he is the guy to get it done here, but for all purposes that team will be loaded by our standards. I know looking back the 2015/2014 teams were loaded and we should have won more games. He may not win enough 2 years from now to keep his job, but the stage will be set for him to win enough to stay.

The schedule should be our favorable one where we get all the hard games at home.

I hate this kind of thinking

How he does next year is going to play a big factor as well. He would have to have a pretty high win total that year if he doesn't do anything impressive next year. He can't go 6-6 than 9-3 and everything is ok.

It all starts at ends on the defensive side of the ball. Unless our defensive line drastically improves next season, we will be right where we are currently at.

If he wins 8 or more games in each of the next 2 seasons, he'll keep his job.

If he doesn't, he likely won't.

I really don't see much hope next season but the season after with a favorable home schedule and possibility of coaching moves could be a big year. Calling it now

I do but it all depends on the Defense. I truly believe the offense should get better. The main thing that concerns me is all the veteran WRs we lose. The younger guys are going to have to step up. As a whole I don't expect the Oline to get any worse.

I'm going to stop predicting the Defense because most signs pointed to it being above average this past year and it was awful.

If we start winning more, I have no problem with Bert keeping his job.

If not:

You're afraid we might win enough to keep our coach?

The horror!

It reminds me of those who are wanting Trump to fail.

At this point both are fricking this cat, everyone needs to focus on holding the tail.
