5 years ago we finished the year ranked #5. Winning a championship is achievable, especially with the playoff format

Except we got fricking housed by the two teams that played in the national championship. 2010 was our best shot, but a meltdown against Bama and Cam Newton were in our way of that one.

We'll probably beat Florida.

Will beat MSU and Mizzou as well.

Go 8-4, win bowl game for 9-4, finish ranked.

All of that would be better than what I predicted before the season at 7-5.

How do you expect us to score against their DL?

Football Outsiders has a "Power success rate", which is the percentage of runs on third or fourth down, two yards or less to go, that achieved a first down or touchdown.

Want to guess where we are ranked? 128th. We are dead fricking last.

So give up?

Maybe that's my problem? I expect the Razorbacks to rise to the level of competition. I refuse to take on a losers mentality though. There's absolutely no reason why we can't find the right leadership to bring home a National Championship! I don't care if we have to replace Jeff Long! His seat should get warm too.

Same way we've won the games we have.

Florida has a terrible offense, I like the matchup for the Hogs.

Very good chance to win at home after a bye IMO.

I didn't say we were a championship team that hear. The point is, if we can get to #5, it's not a big stretch to say we could get into the playoffs. And anything could happen from that point.

No, Bret lost 52-0 in Tuscaloosa

You didn't say anything about where the game was played, you just said worst conference loss.

I'm withholding my judgement until after the bye, this game will tell me a lot about CBB and the mentality of this team. If we come out and put a beatdown on UF like we should, then maybe Auburn was just some sort of fluke game, which happens from time to time. If we come out flat and get beat, especially if the team shows no enthusiasm or will to win like last night, then my opinion of CBB will greatly change and I'll definitely be calling for someone's head. I just know that performance last night wasn't our usual effort for whatever reason, and the blame lies somewhere.

You said Bret didn't lose 52-0 to Bama...and he did...at Bama in year one. Tying our worst conference loss in school history.

Y'all are arguing over 52-0 when 56-3 is a bigger margin anyway

No, I said losing a conference game 52-0 wasn't a first. John L. did it in 2012.

All very true. A 9-4 finish would equal or exceed what most sane people had predicted for the year.

However, it's not the 4 L's, that would have folks riled, it's how they were achieved. We were less competitive against aTm and Bama this year. We were not competitive against Auburn at all.

Competitive losses you can kind of stomach. One's where you don't compete don't go down as easy.

we don't have the depth to take a hit in talent like we did and not miss a step

maybe that will come with time, but we're not there yet.

Losing by 53 points is not "missing a step"

I could run out a few more excuses for why it happened, but none of them make me feel any better about it.
