How we play vs Florida will show what kind of coach Bert is

and really how we finish the season. We have four very winnable games in front of us, 2-2 at worst.
Finish strong and my perfect storm theory for what happened at Auburn becomes very likely. Finish strong and it'll show Bert lit a fire under the team/assistants.
If they come out flat and without fire, Bert can start packing his bags.

Same goes for McElwain. Any coach with decent speed on offense should be able to put up 40+ points against our defense using the AU/A&M/Texas Tech blueprint.

We won't buyout his contract this year. Best hope would be another P5 school to come calling.

No it won't. We have had 3 1/2 years to see what kind of coach he is. One game isn't going to change that.
Bret said when hired, "Ill give Arkansas fans something they've never had"
Firsts under Bret...
- Longest conference losing streak in school history
- Largest Margin of defeat in conference game(52-0 to Bama)
- Worst season in over 50 years of Arkansas football(3-8 1st year)
- First loss to a MAC team in school history
- Most rushing yards given up in school history(Auburn 2016)
- Largest margin of defeat in conference game(56-3 breaking his previous record against Alabama).
That Auburn game is the type of loss that makes a team quit. That team quit before the game was over. You just don't bounce back from that. I would imagine this team only wins two more games, maybe. Those being Miss State and Mizzou. But even this team could frick those two up.
This team has now quit in two losses this season. They quit against aTm in the second half and they quit last night in the first quarter.
Its time to go back to the drawing board.

two things
1. let's not pretend petrino left the cupboard full
2. we're replacing a lot of talent, especially on the oline

how do you determine when we quit?
I saw players trying to make plays, but not able to. my theory is we're lacking in depth and experience at crucial positions.

Damn good post.
I continue to put a lot of blame on the Defensive captain. When you're terrible at the top you can't help but be terrible everywhere else.

I agree completely....
Florida is winnable with a well coached group of guys. But... If he has lost this team, he will lose the majority of the fans as well.
I wonder how the next season of the TV show will be

i'm telling myself maybe the defense will look better against UF since it's a more traditional offense, but i was glad we were playing Sean White instead of a mobile QB and he had a 40 yard run on us so...

It's been 4 years bud. It's still in him for bot having oline men to step up and play these guys are terrible

Yup let's get rid of that fat fricker and start all over.
Change offensive and defense to fit the players we have.
Lose recruits and coaches.
Start 3-9 season next year?
I'm all in.
Let's list coaches that would come here and immediately turn this program around.

Chad Morris looked real good last night

John L. lost 52-0 to Bama the year before Bielema got here, so that wasn't a first. I agree with your post, just wanted to point that out.

No, Bret lost 52-0 in Tuscaloosa
John L lost 52-0 in Fayetteville

At some point, we have to say it didn't work out. I get your point, but when do you say we need to cut bait, and bring someone else in to give them a shot?
Hell, do we ever cut bait? It's not like there's a long list of coaches out there begging to be on a zero recruiting island, with expectations of winning a National Championship. In the end, are we just fricked?

I expect to win a National Championship one day. I hope I'm not the only one, but I hope that's what we're building to achieve.

We have no chance at winning a national championship... just not going to happen in today's game with our recruiting.

Well that's fricking depressing, and sure takes the wind out of some of our trolls, LOL.
With all due respect, I continue to believe under the right leadership, we can win a National Championship.

5 years ago we finished the year ranked #5. Winning a championship is achievable, especially with the playoff format
