Toledo was just a wonky game real early in the season.

The one that pisses me off the most is the Tech game. Our defense might as well not have even stepped on the field that game. I still don't get it. I understand we were weak at LB and our pass rush wasn't the greatest, but still, they're just Tech. We should have at least made them punt once or twice. If Vandy can field a good defense so can Arkansas. My god.

All three run an offense that is similar and high powered at a time when our offense was anything but.

Toledo doesn't run a similar offense to Tech and A&M

Eh, the Tech loss doesn't eat at me too much because they did the one thing I've been saying opposing coaches should do against us for nearly a decade -- line up in the gun and throw it every down, specifically at the middle of the field.

Also, I have no idea what the Frick Robb Smith was doing during that game, because they were eating our lunch by taking advantage of our corners' cushions, and we did nothing to try and come up and jam their receivers at the line.

Toledo and A&M bother me way more. Toledo bothers me because they're a fricking MAC team who pushed us around, and our offensive line got no push whatsoever. When a MAC team forces you to abandon the run despite the fact that it's supposedly your bread and butter, you've got problems. Plus, we could not score in the redzone to save our lives.

A&M bothers me because we lost in eerily similar fashion to 2014, and I hate losing to the Aggies.

probably because they would've burned our secondary even worse than they already did.

The A&M and Mississippi State losses flip my stomach far more than the Tech and Toledo losses.

Toledo was a fluke. Looking at the stat line alone tells us that it shouldn't have been a loss. Penalties combined with the offense not clicking yet in the second game became the perfect storm.

Tech had to be perfect and they nearly were all game. We had to be perfect, but couldn't be that early in the season still.

A&M and Mississippi State are the losses that matter. We hold on for one series against A&M and we stop MSU once or make the field goal, and we're in the Sugar Bowl... 7-1 conference record, 9-3 overall. Ole Miss lost to Memphis which is a similar level loss as Toledo. I'd go 0-4 non-conference every year and 8-0 conference.

As an addendum to my point above, another thing that pisses me off about losing to A&M is this is the second year in a row in which we've lost a heartbreaker to them and then watched them proceed to implode the second half of the season while we catch fire.

A&M was arguably the worst team in the West by season's end.

I couldn't help but get annoyed/pissed off yesterday while watching both of them play. We've now blown sure fire wins against A&M two years in a row and have lost to State on the last drive of the game three straight years. I think I want to beat those two teams more than anyone next year just to get that monkey off our back.
