That's so weird because I went hiking once too.

But I didn't die.

He only fell 6-10 feet and died? Must have landed on his head. Prayers for the family. Sad story

His initials weren't JW by chance were they? I had a very good friend about the same age die the same way in NWA 4 years ago.

The guy slipped on a wet rock, then hit the water.

Politicians should make a law requiring hikers to this spot to wear a life vest, full face helmet, and build a barrier to restrict the public from getting 100ft from edge.

Also, need signs, plenty of signs.

My cousin fell off the same spot 3 years ago. A first responder called my Aunt yesterday and said that the girl yesterday fell on the ribbon that we had set up at the base of the cliff for my cousin(in the exact spot). So sad, families should never have to go through this

I've never actually been up there, how easy would it be to slip and fall or do you have to really go out of your way for it happen?

If it's from the bluff...I could see somebody getting within 5 feet and falling off.

For me...I can see plenty right from the middle.

Is it just me or does it always seem like it's people from fort smith who are unable to complete the hike?

too flat down there, can't get used to the 6% change in grade.

I think this girl is from Rogers, so no telling what part of the world her family originated from.

I keep thinking I'll take my nephew to hike up to Hawksbill but it's probably best to wait until he's a little older and has some fear of life instilled in him. He's a wildman.

She and her parents are from the UK.

Her parents and her sister had gained citizenship last year. Her sister graduated from tYou of A last weekend. Jessamy was a freshman.

So damn sad!

very sad for the family, I hate that a young person full of life and adventure is now gone leaving a family devastated.

another reminder to be on your guard while out in nature, things can get bad fast and you need to have a plan in case it does.
