So generous. So Fresh.

Apparently Fayetteville is going to get a Alexis Diaz mural at the old Mountain Inn site...or somewhere else downtown.

Our mural game will never match Ft Fresh's, but thanks fort he mural, Forties.

No. Had they, they'd have one wearing a houndstooth fedora and 15 legs, each wearing a national championship ring, with stars and bars as the background.

You're welcome. If you need any more culture don't be afraid to cast your gaze upon the beacon of hope down in the River Valley.

The jealousy in Fayetteville over Ft. Smith's attention from their murals and art efforts is hilarious.

We jelly of Bentonville, too.

Aside from that, Fayetteville has a good arts scene. Nothing comparable in Fort Fresh to WAC, Theater Squared, the Underground, local galleries, or even First Thursdays on the Square.

Still, I was being diplomatic and gracious. Hopefully it is the Mountain Inn wall as rumored. That wall is an eyesore. Will be cool to have it turned into something nice.

When medical mj passes, you should open a clinic/treatment lounge in that Mountain Inn eyesore. Build a glass walled treatment room looking out to the south with a rooftop educational patio.

It's the Mountain Inn. Known about this since last Friday.

I know the Unexpected organizers well. I've met and drank with some of the artists. That being said, when I found out about this last week, it was indeed Unexpected.

Do you know what is going to be painted there?

This is cool. That spot is very visible.

Overall a festival like this is better suited to Fort Smith. Fayetteville doesn't have nearly the number of big, brick buildings that downtown Fort Smith has.

It'd be cool if Fayetteville got one every year, though.

No clue on what the design looks like at this point. I really like that artist, though.

I'm a little disappointed because there was a LOT of buzz that Shepard Fairey was going to be an artist this year, but he's maybe a little big (or maybe he's not cool and cutting edge in the mural scene anymore.. I don't really know it that well).

I'm excited to see what future years hold for the festival, though, because the folks behind it want to move it beyond just a mural/art festival and into something much more... unexpected.

lack of abandoned or mostly run down buildings in high visibility areas causes this slight advantage of theirs.

We don't choose to live in the Fort. Typically Smithians haven't been able to move to NWA yet and are trapped.

I will when my youngest graduates.

As a prominent Smithian I know often says, "Fort Smith's greatest export is its talent."

Sad, but true. Thankfully there are a group of movers and shakers trying to change that up.
