Personally, I think the game this weekend is much bigger than local media understands or will represent.

Why do I think this?

We had some momentum underway which was translating directly into recruiting, stadium expansions, etc. Say what you want, but that beatdown that Auburn delivered halts all of that unless we turn it back around.

Florida is a well known name nationally. Beating them, especially if we could beat them convincingly will make the Auburn debacle a thing of the past, especially in recruits minds.

It matter most, because I think we CAN beat them soundly. They are very solid on defense, of that there is little doubt...but they really haven't played anyone with an offense as good as ours is (TN being the only candidate).

Remember, they postponed the LSU game. TN scored 38 points on them. Other than that, they have Georgia, Missouri, Kentucky and Vandy as their SEC opponents. North Texas and UMass? Really?

I dare say if that was our schedule our D wouldn't be ranked as high as their is...but we'd be a top 20 ranked defense. I see Arkansas scoring 24-34 points on Florida.

As to their offense....well...they're not good. I say the same logic as above applies somewhat to our D...we've played some of the very best offenses in college football and they made us look pretty bad. Florida's offense isn't in the same league as A&M, Auburn or Bama.

I don't see them scoring more than 14-21 points.

Its a college game....anything can happen, but I think if both teams play well, we win.

What am I missing?

So what you're implying is that if we lose out, we stop the stadium expanson project until we start winning again?

People are going to remember 56-3 regardless of what happens the rest of this year

Its a big game for the program to regain lost momentum and its a huge game for Bert if he wants to regain the support of the state.

I just wish, while I love the pleasant weather we are having, that we were due for 40 degree temperatures and near freezing rain on game day.

Been praying for freezing rain all week. I'm still hopeful we get a surprise.

We are Arkansas, my friend. Knowing our luck, it'll end up being 85 and sunny and Marc Curles and Penn Wagers will co-officiate our game.

Is it wrong I find myself sort of expecting that by this point?
