LR guy is doing a number on them folks
It's so easy to cash in on the NWA people, hell, look at Jeff Long.

Would like to know how/ what exactly makes up the supposed $70M they'd be spending in the community. I have no idea what goes into a TV production so perhaps it's possible, just seems really high.
The tax breaks don't bother me as it's revenue we otherwise wouldn't be getting anyway.

Figure about $3M to $4M per episode of a 1 hour TV show.
Figure about $1M to $1.5M is spent directly where it's being filmed.
There might be some associated extra spending.. if you figure total economic impact, there are some multipliers..
But, roughly, if 3 seasons of a 22 episode 1 hour TV show were shot in Fayetteville it would generate $60M to $100M in direct spending.

So..... it's a bad thing that we are wanting a show shot in NWA?
Which part?
The added revenue, the increased visibility, the positive press.
Not everyone can be a shite hole like Little Rock because their city leaders turn down FedEX while systematically destroying their school system.
I guess it's a bad thing that we are smart and make money? I guess it's enviable to be a leach on the rest of the state like Little Rock is?????

Far from it, also I don't live in that liberal cesspool called "Little Rock".
Try again, snowflake.

You are a really insecure person. You should try getting your fat arse out some instead of trying to impress people on the interwebs.

that's pennies for the return on a HBO series.
The only people that want to live in LR were born there or in one of the surrounding shite holes.

It's an incentive package for a TV show that already wants to film in Fayetteville.
They have other options, like Georgia. That's where "Ozark" is mostly filmed.
Man, your NWA-envy is not even entertaining anymore. It's just sad.

Was wondering if that's what it was.
And 500k doesn't sound too bad, maybe they can get some stuff worked out with this one to make it easier for others to follow.

This is always odd to me, otherwise conservative people will be in favor of government handing out stacks of cash to private business because there are cameras involved. Shouldn't they be able to turn a profit without the city cutting them a huge check?
In the end I don't care because I'll watch the show and it's not my tax dollars but this is a weird scenario that people are willing to accept.

Actually just poured a 15x35 foot slab for an addition to my barn. What else you got kiddo?
PS: this little addition is just so I can park my new, larger cab over tractor and implements in it. Had to get some more stuff to write off for 2017.

No envy there, Pard. It's funny to see Fayettnam try and play Hollywood when they don't have the infrastructure nor the support for it. But hey, you gotta start somewhere. Maybe Fayettenam's ticket to Hollywood fame will be 'Being Bert Bielema'.

God Damn. I'd mock you right now but this is the saddest thing I've seen today and I spent a good amount of my free time listening to people talk about how sad they are that someone died.
You poor bastard.

Definitely not poor or a bastard, what's really bothering you?

I hope the show is as good as season 1. NW Arkansas is a great setting for a TV show, it is definitely one of the more under appreciated parts of this country.

Hard to miss you having the same childish temper tantrums in all of my threads.
I m glad to see you utilize my #FreeRent hashtag, though.
Keep it up, kiddo.

It gave me a good litmus test for just how shitty LR and the surrounding areas are.
I live in Nashville now, thank god. One stolen car and a whole lot of misery is Missouri later.
Purple Dog here.
