Dave van Horn, comparison to historical Arkansas head coaches.

Dave van Horn has been our head baseball coach for 13 years.
In those 13 years he has 13 NCAA tournament appearances and 4 CWS appearances. He has no national titles.
Nolan Richardson was the head basketball coach for 17 years.
In those 17 years he had 13 NCAA tournament appearances, 4 Elite 8 appearances and 1 national title.
Frank Broyles was the head football coach at Arkansas for 19 years. In those 19 years he had 10 bowl appearances, 2 AP top 5 finishes and 1 national title.
Norm DeBriyn was the head baseball coach at Arkansas for 33 years. In those 33 years he had 15 NCAA tournament appearances and 4 college world series appearances.
The point of this thread is that criticizing Dave van Horn seems to be utterly retarded. Hell, given the progress we made this year with our pitching and the improvement in hitting, I think we could have another CWS appearance next season and potentially do a lot better.

Yeah, this should get some convo going, from a few people at least. Hell, you should have gone for the trifecta and mentioned how much better Central Ar is compared to NW Ar and how more games need to be played in WMS.

Central Arkansas and WMS are both shitholes.

As once stated, it should be turned into a Colosseum with Roman style death matches. If DVH does not start producing then he can be thrown into said Colosseum.

Should have a chance of getting to Omaha and winning some games next year.
Hopefully Killian returns, McKinney and Jackson are both back.

Bonfield will step up next year big time and I believe Spoon is eligible for one more year of play so we really just need to figure out who will step up in Benintendi's role which will virtually be impossible

Dale makes a good point here. In fact I saw our red ribbon hanging in the sports museum where we got edged out for 1st by a lucky kentucky team by five measly games.
A nail biter of an SEC race that wasn't decided until mid February.
Personally thought we should have been named co-champions.
