For those interested.
She only has one year as a head coach where she went 27-27 third past year at Maryland. However that was a 16 game improvement over the prior year.

We are behind the arms race in women's softball in the SEC. She might not seem like a diamond but what we had before wasn't exactly lighting things up. I am prepared to give her a chance. Two or so years. Lets see if we improve from where we are now to where we would hope to be.
Honestly I'd love to hang a Women's Softball championship from our rafters.

Dale, I love you man, but you have been way too bitter lately. If she wins the SEC then we extend her contract and see what she builds from there.
Sometimes you just need to see what someone can do. Lets see what she brings to the table and then talk about her future.

Right. This has nothing to do with our new Softball HC and everything to do with Van Horn.
Lets judge her on her own merits and not lump her in with Van Horn how about?
She might be great, she might suck. Lets see how she does without prejudging her. I won't step into the whole Van Horn thing but I think this young woman deserves a shot to see what she can do.

My son is dating a girl from a 6A (I think)school. She scheduled two officials to Arkansas, and said the coach seemed indifferent and weird. She thought they just didn't want her. Second official was much the same.
Does this sound like someone you would be indifferent about, after failing to win a single SEC game?
***** pitched 10 no-hit games this season, including one in the first round of the state playoffs. She had a 23-3 record during playoff time, which included a 14-0 conference record. She hit .391 with 18 runs batted in. She was an All-State and All-Conference selection for four years.
New coach has to be an improvement.
