Convince me that Arkansas won't win 10 games this year.

Here's the big thing in the West. Most teams will be down this year and Arkansas will be way up.
Alabama: Losing Amari Cooper will hurt Alabama and the Lane Kiffin offense more than anyone is willing to admit. Offensively they are not going to have an identity and this will make their defense struggle more.
Auburn: Jeremy Johnson is a better quarterback than Nick Marshall. Unfortunately for Johnson, Malzahn's system requires a runner who can throw rather than an actual Quarterback. Auburn's entire offense is built around running 80% of the time and passing 20% and Johnson isn't built for that. Auburn has an 8-4 ceiling this season.
LSU: LSU is the one team in the West besides Arkansas that will be improved this season. I think the west will boil down to who has the most victories between Arkansas, LSU and Alabama. Unfortunately Arkansas has both opponents on the road. This might be LSU's year. Sure they have an ultra-shitty QB, but he's had an extra year and they might use the not quite as shitty QB. Coaching is the wild card here.. also if they struggle early they might fold.
Mississippi: Mississippi's coach is just bad and they don't have a good QB. I think they fall down in the 5-7 range this year with the other Mississippi and A$M.
Mississippi State: They have Dak. That's about it. Psychologically their team won't be able to handle. I think they'll probably finish 5th with a chance at 4th if Auburn implodes more than I think they will.
Texas A&M: Their defense might be better, their offense might be better I just don't think their team will be any better. Young QBs are almost never good and their defense needs a lot more improvement than they will be able to see in a single season.
My final predictions:
Alabama: 11-1 (loss @ Georgia)
LSU: 11-1 (loss @ Alabama)
Arkansas: 10-2 (losses @ LSU and @ Alabama)
Auburn: 8-4 (losses @ LSU and @ Arkansas plus at home to Georgia and Alabama)
Mississippi State: 7-5 (wins vs. Kentucky, Mississippi and @ A&M)
Mississippi: 7-5 (wins vs Vandy, A&M and @ Florida)
Texas A&M: 6-6 (wins vs. South Carolina and @ Vanderbilt)
Alabama: Losing Amari Cooper will hurt Alabama and the Lane Kiffin offense more than anyone is willing to admit. Offensively they are not going to have an identity and this will make their defense struggle more.

I wish I were as optimistic, but I only see ~8 wins. Not saying it cant happen, its more that I think 10 wins is a lot to ask with that schedule. A lot of things have to go right but Lord knows we're due for some things to bounce our way. But life don't work that way.

^ I'm with Dan. I have confidence we'll be good just not sure with how the schedule shakes out.

We're due for a couple of balls to bounce our way. Especially after last year.

I've been an Arkansas fan since birth. That's why we won't go 10-2. That would mean we exceeded expectations

Reasons why we won't win 10 games.
1. Brandon Allen. (I've been as big a cheerleader for Brandon Allen to surprise the world and be an All-SEC QB this year. However, Brandon Allen is still the guy that has yet to prove he can go out and win you a ballgame when he has to. If Enos isn't able to do what I think he can w/ Allen, and we get the BA that we've seen the last 2 seasons, we're not winning 10 games)
2. OL full of Guards. (Bert's stated that he's building from inside out focusing on interior linemen, facts are that other than Brian Wallace we've not signed premier OT, we've got a walk on backing up Kirkland on the left side. Colton Jackson won't be ready to play for 2 years, he didn't seem to progress as much as was hoped in his Sr. year of HS. We've got sign some edge protectors in this class)
3. WR coach (Michael Smith is looking like he's the weak spot on the field but recruits LA too well for us to make a change and other coaches are performing too well to slide him into their spot. The WR absolutely have to step it up this season. They're not elite talents, but they should be good enough to run the correct route, get separation, and catch the ball when it is thrown to them)
4. Brooks Ellis is the leader of the Defense (I've not been as high on Ellis as Coach B is. He often makes a bad read and his athleticism isn't elite SEC LB level. He's been targeted as a soft spot in our pass defense, he's got to get nasty and take a couple slot WR and RB's heads off so teams will stop throwing to his man and running plays designed to get him on an island.)
5. Pass Rush probably going to be weak. (We lost our best penetrators on Defense, only Wise has proven to be a sack threat. Looking forward to see what the young LBrs can bring. Ledbetter is going to have to be a stud early I'm afraid)
In saying all of that I've got us pegged at 9-3 at the moment. I think we win in Tuscaloosa and Knoxville. But LSU, Auburn, and Miss St. beat us. I reserve the right to drink more Kool Aid and up the win total over the next month.

This may sound crazy, but I think that 9 wins and beating Alabama would excite our fan base and get the lone remaining tards still clinging to Petrio memories to finally buy in more so than 10 wins and another loss to Bama. However, not sure I can stomach another loss to Gus.
Plus, if we win 9 and then the bowl game, Bert will have matched Petrino's year 3 record.

You forgot #6 -- LB depth.
We're an injury away from being fricked there, especially given our physical style of play. Here's hoping that Hackett and Eugene step up big time.

dunno, but I believe and am ready for this season to start.
I'll only be going to the southwest classic this year (maybe the texas tech game, too. that's up in the air) and can't wait

Something about you recruit your own problems.
That's what is said.

I've got us with
8 wins
3 toss ups- @UT, @Miss, Auburn
1 Loss- @Bama
So anywhere from 8-4 to 11-1. Anything can happen though. I feel very strongly that we will be in every single game in the 4th quarter and just need some luck and some clutch late game plays and this could be a very special season.

I'm surprised you were able to take MA's balls out of your mouth long enough to comment on that.

If I were you, I would try and take things to a personal level, that's exactly what I would do.

Forgetting Dale's nonsensical quip...I don't even think I agree. We've got a couple of freshmen coming in, Eugene, a JUCO entering his 2nd year (same time Spaight took off), a walk-on that looked pretty fantastic (butu starter kit) in the spring game, and Hackett (who looked extremely impressive to me in the spring).
Of course, I'm placing a lot of faith on Smith and Hargreaves being very good at their jobs and Herb doing all that is necessary to have them physically ready. Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but frick it. Gotta be excited about SOMETHING.

I think Brooks Ellis is far better and more important than everybody gives him credit for being.
Just look at what happened to our defense last year when he WASN'T out there.
