quote:
For the past week, I have spent my days and nights with much prayer trying to decide my future at the University of Arkansas.
Without a doubt this has been one of the most difficult weeks of my life as I try to make the right decision for my future. If I return, getting my degree and perhaps breaking new records would be within my reach.
To be able to share those records and awards with the team and fans would be an incredible experience for all of us.
I also see a future in the NFL as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
After much prayer and discussion with the people who love me, I have made the decision to enter the NFL Draft.
Coach Bielema has been a guiding mentor in my life for several years and I want to personally thank him for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to play at Arkansas.
I also want to thank the coaching staff, academic staff, and my teammates for helping make my time at the University of Arkansas successful.
Lastly, there is no way to truly express how thankful I am for the love and support Arkansas fans have given me during the past three years. Without a doubt there are no better college fans than Hogs fans.
I hope I make you proud at the next level.
Always WPS,
Alex Collins

Good for AC! He made, what I feel, was the wise decision.

Will be fun watching him play on Sunday.
Hope he has more team success in the pros than he got to enjoy here, but he did so much to get our program back on track so that maybe the players that come after him will get to enjoy more team success.
Don't think he could have done better anywhere else in terms of his personal development and achievements though, which was more important to his goal of supporting himself financially through football.
Was certainly reasonable for people on here to speculate that between Kirkland, Henry, and Collins, that maybe one or more might return,
but the only poster on here that tried to ridicule me for guessing that all three would probably go pro early was Hawgeye with his BS "inside info".
Looking like quite the jackass now Hawgeye.

I still believe kirkland should have stayed. he could have actually improved his stock and made more money.

And to think I had high hopes of seeing DC streaking down Dixon.
Thanks for ruining that AC, and thanks for giving us Arkansas fans a lot of great memories over the past 3 years.
I still remember watching this and being nervous as all get out
