You knew someone would come calling even after one year. UNLV has history and tradition similar to Arkansas, hope we didn't miss out on a huge opportunity. Let's see if he can do a one year turn a around again.

If Beard has similar success at UNLV, he won't be there long.

Unlv has enough tradition were he dan compete there. They still constantly get top recruiting classes and Andrew Bennett the first puck 3 drafts ago was from unlv

Very much agree, Beard should do well if this year wasn't a fluke.

Power 5 schools will be calling if Beard gets similar results.

yep we're stuck w/ Mike for a few more years. Our hope is that he's stupid w/ money and has to coach like he needs the cash. He's made 100K+ for 15+ years then Mizzou and Arkansas has paid him multiple millions for the last 8 years or so.

Dude should be set and I can see why he's coasting.

I wonder if he picked UNLV just so he could change their name to
Las Vegas Running Rebs ?

I question any man's judgment if he chooses Lubbock over Vegas

Did they just get there in the last week or something? Sounds like he weaseled his way out of a commitment.

I think his story is, that he is divorced and his kids still live in Lubbock, he coached there for some years (maybe 10) as an assistant for Bobby Knight.

Not real sure

TTU wasn't open last week; his UNLV contract had a buyout so I'm not sure why you are upset

Not to mention he wasn't really given a vote of confidence by UNLV.

He coached under Knight at Tech. His kids live in Texas with his ex wife who is from Texas. He coached at Angelo State, in San Angelo Texas prior to UALR.

It makes sense and you can't fault him for wanting to be back in Texas. Lubbock isn't too terribly far from San Angelo.
