Before moving to the NFL, Walker spent two seasons as a defensive assistant on Nick Saban’s staff at LSU, handling quality control duties. During that time LSU won the 2003 SEC Championship and BCS National Championship. The Tigers led the nation in total defense in 2003 and ranked third in 2004.

One more left to hire (the added 10th.) That has been approved by the NCAA, right?

Not sure. I believe it wouldn't be voted on til March. I hear that it won't take effect til next year as it would devastate FCS level in mid spring practice.

When we made this move to a 3-4, they helped us with a lot of install,” Mike Stoops said of the Alabama influence on the 2013 Sooners. “Chad Walker, who is our quality control guy who works with me in structuring our defense, spent four or five years with Nick. He’s helped me tremendously to put this thing together. They understand it better than anybody. Coach Saban has been running this and variations of all kinds of defenses.”
The Stoops brothers and Saban have sharing ideas for years, with OU coaches visiting Alabama and vice versa during the past few offseasons.
“We have always exchanged ideas,” Mike Stoops said.

We've snuck some guys in for interviews. Being on the road is a good time to do things under the radar. One of the guys I wanted to interview was just eliminated from the NFL playoffs and another is still involved. I don't want to speculate on when it's going to happen.

Sounds like Belichick is coming to be our D-line coach and co-DC! Alert the masses!

But for real, this is the only SB coach with college ties that would even come close to leaving for AR:

Chad Walker - LBs/Defensive assistant with the Falcons
Looks like he has strong Louisiana ties, started coaching under Saban at LSU, and has only been around the south.
