Can We Hang With a Flat Alabama Team in Tuscaloosa

It's only natural Bama will not be as amped for this game, no matter how much overlord Saban yells at the media. Danielson always said his coaches said they could really only get a college team up for 3 or 4 games/year. My question is can an amped Arkansas even hang with Bama at say 80% their normal intensity?

It's a homecoming game so I don't know if they will be flat but I agree that we can hang.

What are the odds they have two down games at Bryant Denny this year?

it can happen either way. they might play flat, and we hang, or they come out jacked like they did at uga and we get blown out. I'm betting we hang but they win between by 3-10 points. I think the hogs will have to score some easy ones on long tds and get some turnovers to win this game in the low 20s.

The players and coaches don't give a rip about all the Homecoming activities. To them its another game plain and simple.
No one is at practice yelling "Come guys play harder, we got to win this game for the Homecoming Queen and all the Alums who are coming back to campus this weekend".
That said I would be shocked, pleased but shocked, if Bama is flat Saturday night.

If we hang, no matter how the game is played, everyone will say Bama came out flat.
So the answer to your question is certainly.

No because our D will get exposed this weekend.

does this apply to us as well?

I'll be there. I think if we show up, play each play 100% and play one play at a time...we can hang and give them all they want.
If we make mistakes, take even one play off or flinch...it'll get ugly quick.
I totally expect the first option and will be very disappointed otherwise...winning we don't control...effort and focus...we do.

Sarcasm [ON] OFF
You mean they won't be distracted by the homecoming dance afterward, what they'll wear, and hoping their girlfriends finally give them some action? Plus I'm sure the players are really hoping their individual favorites win homecoming queen and will be focused on that. And then some of the players will have to leave early in the 2nd quarter to get changed into their dress attire so they can walk the homecoming nominees across the field, and I bet some of them will be nervous about that beforehand. We can totally win this game by anywhere from 20-40 points.

Seriously though, I think we will keep this game close as usual. We really seem to play up/down to our competition, regardless who they are. If we can stop Henry here and there and limit their passing attack even 30%, we'll be in good shape. We can't afford drives that don't end in points this game though, we won't be able to recover against their defense or hang on with ours.
