As you know, our beloved Hogs have earned post season bowl eligibility by handing LSU another beat down in NovemBert. With a good chance of winning two more sec games and finishing the season at 8-4, we could find ourselves sitting in the stands of some decent bowl games. I have not been to a hog game in a few years, unfortunately, so I would like to see them come closer to North Carolina. What are your predictions? What bowl and matchup would you like to see?

Of the projections shown on your link I would pick the Outback Bowl versus Northwestern as first and the Music City Bowl versus Nebraska second.
The way things looked 5 weeks ago I'd take the damn Bham Bowl!

Texas bowl was last season, it is very rare for the same team to go back 2 years in a row, and with the new contract for 6 years even more difficult.
Bowls of 6
Texas
Liberty
Belk
Music City
Outback
Tax Slayer
One of those is the most likely scenario.
Arkansas, Tenner, Ole Miss, Miss State, TAMU, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Bama are bowl eligible at this time. Auburn should be following this weekend.
Vandy, USC East, KY, and Mizzou wont make it in my opinion.
As of now my best guess is the following.
Bama - Cotton playoff
Florida- Sugar
LSU- Buffalo Wild Wings (old Cap 1)
Georgia- Outback
Tenner- Belk
TAMU- Texas
Ole Miss- Music City
Miss St- Tax Slayer
Arkansas- Liberty
Auburn- Indy, Shreveport
Any of the ones in bold could be interchangeable. But several have been to certain bowls more recently. Also time of the game/date is important as well. For fan travel, tv allotment, etc.
Miss State was in Liberty 2 years ago, TAMU last season,
best guess is that Tenner or Arkansas will be in the Liberty this year against Texas Tech, WV, or K State...Since WV was in Liberty last season.. Probably K State or Texas Tech. However most of the time bowls do not want a rematch from earlier in the season... (Texas Tech).
Much is speculation based on past performances, etc.
The Liberty is contracted with the Big 12 for the 4th pick following playoff bowls (Cotton, Orange, Peach, Fiesta, Sugar, Rose) and can pick another team if within one win. EX... If Texas Tech has one more win than Kansas State, K. State can be chosen.
Whew... a lot of that for nothing.

Give me Nashville or Memphis.
A Florida bowl may be good for recruiting but who knows.

even if the Music City bowl is a lower tier than the Outback, I'd still much prefer playing Nebraska over Northwestern

Memphis or Nashville.
Long as its not cold as frick like the Ice Bowl of 2009.
Worst game to attend ever.

Let's see them in Memphis or Nashville- that's close enough for "most" fans to go see them.
However, a bowl in Florida would definitely help boost our credibility down there, and help out with recruiting (probably).

That is the point of what I posted. The music city, liberty and Outback are now considered the very same level.
Bowls of 6 are no longer based on pecking order at all...

Thanks Rev.
How awesome would a bowl against Nebraska be with Bert at the helm... Would love a revenge match against TT too. K State I'm apathetic on

i want a bowl game at a plae i atually want to visit like the peach bowl or the outback bown

the peach is now one of the playoff bowls, one of the 6 that the playoff rotates to every 3 years.
Only a top 12 team/highest rated from a non power 5 conference will get in.
as for Outback. not a fan.

Florida Bowl.
We could rent a van and have a SECR Tailgate.
Plenty of booze, blow, alcohol.

I would be so down. Assuming I would have a liberty pass or leave approved.

Who do we need to be rooting for to make the Citrus Bowl? I'm thinking if Ole Miss beats LSU & State beats Ole Miss then we're in it. Alabama would be in the playoffs, Florida the Sugar.
Posted on 11/18/15 at 12:09 pm to arkiebrian
what are you calling the Citrus bowl?
Orange is a playoff bowl 6, 1/4 or 2/3 will play there.
Peach is a Big 6 bowl and will host playoffs every 3 years. Top 12 power conf. team vs, most likely the highest rated non power 5 this season.
Buffalo Wild wings (old Cap 1) get the next choice following playoff bowl/Big 6...
Then the Bowls of 6...
