Batting .408 in last 10 games, good to see some good news.

That puts 3 hogs on the Greenville roster.

Beeks, Gunn, and now Benintendi

For us that don't know jack about baseball, does this mean he's one step shy of being put on a MLB roster?

Lulz. Not even close.

The hierarchy is:

MLB (the show)
AAA
AA
A
(High A)
(Low A)
A-short season
Rookie Advanced
Rookie
Independent

Then winter leagues in Arizona and Latin America.

Thanks. for a guy like him, what's the expectation to making it? a few years?

also, is he still getting paid pretty good even though he isn't in MLB?

He got a $3M signing bonus. So he's set if he's not a dummy.

You never know with baseball. You just want to see progress. He's not a super athlete so the expectations won't be quite as crazy. He was a top 10 draft pick so usually you hope they're in the bigs by year 3. They'll see how he finishes at A level. He'll likely play in the Arizona league. Then depending on how he does in spring training he'll either go back to Greenville or start out at AA.

Unlikely that he'd start at AAA next year. Brett Eibner has been stuck at AAA for about 3 seasons at least. Of course the Royals have pretty good OF. I'd think Eibner will be trade bait for a team that's losing OF to Free agency.

If Benny starts hot next season he'll be in AAA by the all star break.
