After next season? 2016?

I've always been a believer in Bielema and I have confidence that he has our program headed in the right direction, we'll be good again once we get rid of all the Petrino leftovers. That said, not all of our fans have the vision, nor the patience, to see the program Bielema is trying to build here. Most fans are just focused on instant success, as evident by the turnout at WMS Saturday. They would rather turn out to games when we are "good" rather than when our team needs the support from its fans more than ever. I'm afraid some of the University's biggest contributors will start calling for heads at some point sooner than later. That being said, when do BB and JL start feeling the pressure from still being winless in the SEC?

ETA: First priority for this staff at the end of this season (I'd prefer if it were sooner) is to can Chaney's fat arse and send him packing, that will remedy a few issues. We need to recruit like hell this offseason.

At the very least we have to make a bowl game next year. If not I'm guessing his seat will be pretty damn warm

2018 or 2019 when the buyout goes below 3.2 mil

He knew the rebuilding project he was getting into when taking the job. Going to be longer process along the lines of what Mullen is doing at State rather than what Saban jumped into at Bama.

True - to a degree.
He did not realize he was left with no receivers, per his own statement from a while back. (Statement paraphrased a little.)
He also didn't realize just HOW tough the SEC West was.
It is/was in worse shape than he first thought.

The point where this:

doesn't happen.

The common fans don't have any say in the direction of the program, and thank God that's true. If it weren't, we'd have hired Garrick McGee or promoted Paul Petrino, throw the ball 70 times a game, and play ASU in Little Rock.

Also, we're playing a ton of true freshmen and sophomores and don't have a QB, a kicker, a punter, or playmakers at receiver. We're thin at OL, WR, the entire back seven, and have no kicker or special teams threat.

Meh, I have a friend whose dad is on the BOT, and my dad is friends with one of Gearhart's brothers. From the precious little I've heard, most of the PTB on tHill knew this would be a colossal rebuilding effort unlike anything we've seen before.

With all that said, if we go 0-8 again, 2015 will be the year in which we'll have to show a ton of progress. I still think he can get it done here, and he's not making a fool of himself like Petrino did off the field and JLS did everywhere. We're experiencing far less attrition, recruiting much better and recruiting higher character kids, APR and GPA is up, and our strength and conditioning program is much better than it's ever been. If Bert is ultimately unsuccessful here, he's still going to be leaving the program in *much* better shape than he found it.

Longterm - I'm hoping Bert works out for a litany of reasons, not the least of which being that I'm scared that if he doesn't, other coaches are going to view our program as a place you can't win. I'm worried that the mindset of "dang, he dominated at Wisconsin and now he can't win a thing at Arkansas!" might permeate through the coaching ranks, but that's a long way away if it even ever comes to fruition.

If we go winless in the SEC this year, it begins to warm

If we miss a bowl next year, it should be scorching

No team should be that bad. Not for $3M/year

Problem is, I can see us going 0-for this year again and I don't see any saviors walking through that door that gives me any hope for next year

LSU is going to whip our arse.

If we'd have played them early we'd have stomped em bad. That team will improve big time this month.

Meh, I'd argue that that's actually one of the good things about the way Bert builds a team and is approaching this rebuild. He's not having to rely on a savior like McFadden and Mallett becsuse he operates through depth and building a redshirt program.

I'm not being a sunshine pumper, but we're getting a lot of guys like JoJo, Hackett, Hedlund, Peavey, Day coming off shirts, in addition to guys like Ragnow, Wallace, Jackson, Eugene, Ramsey, and Tolliver who've logged a lot of time as true freshmen.

We'll be an extremely experienced team next year, but those young guys have to take that step forward.

I think he should have a min of 4 years. He definitely has us heading in the right direction as we all know how heart breaking the A&M, and Bama game was. Two very winnable games. Did he get some recruits in when he first got here? He only has one class of kids, (maybe two...Im not sure how many sophmores we have are his recruits) so I say give the man some time. It was really tough last year for him wanting to play that hard nosed football with petrinos finesse high powered offense. He has done a good job though getting some weight on those guys to better use them for the type of play he wants. If we dont get to a bowl game next year the seat may start to get a little warm, but I dont think our AD will give up on him that fast even so. I do think we will be bowling next year though. This year is not over either so I'm still hoping we hit that 6-6 mark. Never Yield!

He has 5 years minimum. And it would have to get really bad to get fired the 5th year.

If we see a mass exodus of assistant coaches this year, I'd get worried about the future of this program.

I'll take Jim Chaney for 1000, Alex.

Also, I like Robb Smith, but I'd take Muschamp as DC in a heartbeat. Boom can straight up coach defense. Wouldn't happen unless Smith went elsewhere but I'd take a proven SEC D-coordinator.

If I were a betting man, I'd bet that the defensive staff will return intact, unless Shannon gets a gig as a DC or HC. I really believe we will see some offensive staff changes. Bielema has proven that he will make changes if necessary. While we have had some good numbers, Cheney has yet to develop a real flow. I like him and believe that he is a really good coach, but in my opinion it isn't working like Bert had hoped for. Cheney, while likable, isn't that great a developer of quarterbacks, and we desperately need a QB developer. I'm not real sure what Michael Smith does.

Experience is the savior that should be walking through the door. It's happening for Ole Miss right now. We'll have a very experienced team from top to bottom next year.

Offensive skill players, PRIMARILY qbs and wrs, are what we need badly.

I think our line play is set, on both sides of the ball, for years to come.

I said at the beginning of the year that this team will go as far as Brandon Allen can take them. So far it's better, but not good enough.

'15 Bowl or Bust. No bowl in '15 is unacceptable. We have UTEP, Toledo, UT-Martin, Texas Tech, and Tennesee on the docket next year. If we can't win 1 of our other 7 SEC games on that schedule, we never will with BB at the helm. Bowl game or a minimum of 3 SEC wins next year IMO.

You'd think. But somehow, we will play them close and lose, or even beat them. Book it.
