I think injuries are the major cause of our woes this season. I've lost count how many key contributors are out for a lot or all of this season. We don't lose to Tech with JWill or some of our many receivers out. It's easy to be pissed right now and I think Bielema probably won't be our answer at HC. I don't think Bret can control how a WR lands on his arm or a RB makes a cut and gets hurt. I saw Ole Miss during a 2 win season not to long ago and they kicked Bama's arse. Good times will come again.

Takeaway: Let's just enjoy the 1 or 2 upsets we might get the rest of the way and sail like we've never sailed before if they come.

Amen to that. The only thing that makes me upset is thinking about how none of the teams in the west seem nearly as dominant as they were in the past, when we had some good teams. I feel like if our team was all it was chalked up to be in the preseason, we'd really only be worried about getting past Ole Miss and LSU, with both of those being winnable. This year was our best opportunity to win the West in a long time.

Disagree.

Our offense wasn't really what lost the game for us. Other than the first drive of the game (stupid decision by Bielema, we should've deferred) and the end of the game by BA, our offense was humming pretty good, and we were keeping up with them score for score.

We lost that game because our defense couldn't stop a pack of 5th graders playing 7-on-7.

JWill and/or Hatcher weren't going to force them to punt.

I understand why he took the ball. He knew his defense would struggle and didn't want to play catch up all night. We score first it could change things. Problem is we punted. I don't think it mattered in the end

Technically, that goal is still out there for us...

Yea...I think the offense has played well enough to win both games. The defense played pretty well against Toledo but not against TT.

So in my mind it comes down to the injuries, conditioning of the players, and execution. BA has to get the ball in the end zone when in the red zone.

I think we play a solid game against aggy and could win.

That's kind of where we are, in a wait and see mode.

I still think we are going to win an SEC game or two. A lot of football left to be played.

Haha I'll be watching, maybe I am a glutton for punishment but it's familiar territory if you are a Razorback fan.

A&M runs a significantly more skilled version of Tech's offense. They're going to have a field day with us.

It mattered last year because a very similar situation played out, except they got the ball first.

They scored first, and we played a bit of catch-up in the first half, and killing ourselves with a few stalled drives and the end-around turnover, but the score was 21-21 at halftime. We got the ball to start the 3rd quarter and scored, held them, and then proceeded to pummel them with our run game.

Getting the ball to start the half allowed us to limit their possessions in the second half, and they had just 3 (!) possessions in the second half of that game.

Fast forward to this year -- when they stopped us on 3rd down on our first drive, my first thought was "uh oh, this isn't good," and my concern was only amplified when they proceeded to score on their first possession and we were going to have to play catch up the rest of the game.

As for the topic itself, I think the number of injuries are extremely concerning depth-wise, but they're mostly occurring on offense, and our offense has been pretty good through 3 games. We moved the ball well against Toledo, we just couldn't do anything once we got in the redzone. Defense is our problem right now. UTEP's tailback had a phenomenal game against us, Toledo was eating up the middle of the field and Ely had a career day despite them only scoring 16 points, and the Texas Tech debacle needs no explanation. We don't have an SEC-ready linebacker on our roster. Our defensive line is getting no push whatsoever, and this is the 2nd game against a subpar O-line in which they've been unable to manufacture a pass rush. Couple that with our inability to adjust, our inability to blitz, and playing off coverage despite getting destroyed by the quick outs and WR screens, and it's pretty clear that our defense is pretty weak across the board. It's almost like losing our two best linemen, best LB, and a good, experienced nickelback hurt us.

Always thought that was the most questionable observation of the off season, that somehow the players on the two deep at d-line that didn't do much of anything last year were suddenly stepping up to be as good as Philon and Flowers, two of the best to ever play D-line at Arkansas.

College football is so unpredictable. If there was one thing I was sure about this season it was that Rob Smith would play aggressive defense and would get us in the correct alignments and make adjustments to be the best we could be.

Just a horrible defensive game plan from him last week and I couldn't notice any major adjustments in the face of flat out failure, play after play after play.

26 out of freakin 30. Give me a break.

I'm disappointed at Bijhon Jackson and his lack of production. I really thought he would be wreaking havoc this year.... barely notice when he is on the field right now..... another 4* bust....

The only way these Hogs hang with Aggy is if they basically implode, turn the ball over to us 3 to 5 times and we turn all of those into TD's. Need aggy to get mass food poison night before game!

Nothing wrong with Bijohn.

When your LBs are as shitty as ours, or when the scheme is to keep a safety deep and have no LBs in the middle of the field, your DTs will be double teamed every play.

Way too early to call bijhon a bust, and I don't think aTms offense compared at all to what we saw Saturday. That QB was legit, and much better than Allen
