Are you an enabler or a demanding type of fan?

I've been both.
No longer making excuses, or finding ways I can be less upset at the performance of the program and be OK enough to live with it.
This dude has got to start paying off and getting some results or we're looking at another lost decade.
The lack of aggressiveness is something that worries me. We thought we were getting the guy that put 83 on Indiana, 70 on Nebraska in a conference championship game.
Does Frank Broyles still have power to pull the reigns back on coaches?
When people point out all the coaches that came from Arkansas and out of the football program, it sure feels that Frank has cared more about preserving his legacy than finding the guy that can take it to another level.
I don't want to enable mediocrity any longer.

Nothing any of us do can enable to hinder their progress
If you pull your money over lack of support for the coaching, the program is the only one who suffers

People who are noticed when they pull their money do not bitch on message boards... they make phone calls...

Sometimes they do both. Sometimes they like to say stupid shite on message boards in colorful language they may not use in most of those calls. Everybody flips shite sooner or later. The internet has become a great outlet for shite flipping. But you are correct, the real decision makers don't post on any message boards, but they do read them from time to time.

Demanding. Understanding, but demanding.
The difference between winners and losers is winners find a way. Period. That applies to anything in life. I'm not saying BB isn't finding the way, but these fans that make excuse after excuse and are ok with being "good enough" have me convinced they make minimum wage and are ok with that as long as mom pays her mortgage on his room.
IDGAF what anyone says. We shouldn't have lost to Toledo even with the injuries. No excuses for that. Ever.
And yes... I have every right to demand wins. I'm a fan.

I am not ok with losing to toledo, but I will be ok if we win out from here and win a bowl game and recruiting doesn't falter and even picks up. the results on the field matter but I also have perspective. I will forget about toledo as long as it does not affect recruiting which is truly what is most important. whether bert wins with his recruits or he is fired from not winning. I would like for us to keep stocking the cupboard so maybe the next guy can win. bobby's recruiting is what got us in this mess and it's the only thing that will get us back out. I believe the wins are coming. I like how our team gets better as the season goes on. one year we will win earlier and continue to improve and keep winning. we just need a fully loaded and healthy team. not one that is retooling after losing more draft picks on one side of the ball than arkansas has had since 1985.

The biggest problem with high coaching salaries and buyouts is that when is doesn't work out the impact is much greater since it is much more difficult to cut ties

So are we calling someone that keeps a level head, understands that there's extenuating circumstances to every side of the story, supports the players that are giving it their all, and isn't wanting to start the process all over again 2-1/2 years later an enabler now?
There can be legitimate reasons why you don't beat a team like Bama in their house without it being "excuse making." It's not right to lump it all into one category or another, because no part of what is going on with the team is as black and white as that. I guess since I'm not ready to fire someone RIGHT NOW I'm considered an enabler? The OP is basically saying that if you're not upset about this loss and wanting immediate change then you're just enabling it continue, and that's crazy talk - especially after we've clearly been improving and won an away SEC game last week with the shite-tastic hand we've been dealt.
This team could've easily packed it in after all the injuries, the loss to Toledo, being scorched by TTech at home, and losing a heartbreaker in Dallas, but they just keep on plugging away and never give up. It's sad that some of our fans give up long before the guys taking the actual hits, breaking bones, having BillyBob talk shite to/about them on social media, and pouring every ounce of themselves into getting better.
Why this fanbase can't just get the frick over themselves and their petty little "I'm right!" "No, I'M right!" "no, you're not even a real fan so I'm right!" shite is beyond me. We have fans that legitimately want us to lose games so they can get on some message board or call in show and say that they "TOLD YA SO!" And it always seems to be the dumbest ones that are the loudest, it's fricking mind-numbing sometimes.
I love the Hogs as much as anybody, but I'm not going to act like they've inconvenienced ME by not being the best team in the country or losing a game. Seriously, does anybody realize how foolish it sounds to act like you, as a fan, are more upset about a loss than the individual players and coaches? This is their career, future, livelihood, name, and reputation all on the line here, you think they don't worry about this shite constantly and try their absolute hardest to find any-frickING-thing possible to right the ship?

look it is the cost of doing business in the sec west. also let's just get this out of the way. Arkansas was a god damn dumpster fire and no one would have wanted to come here and I can assure you at this moment we can not get anyone better. I still think we have the right guy it just takes time. all of you who want him fired ask yourself who we would hire and be fricking realistic? who would want to come rebuild a program that doesn't recruit at the level of its competitors? then if you fire him your sending a message to all available coaches that not only is the job immensely difficult but you have 0 job security and you will not be given full support to get your guys in place to try and make a run. every other year at this job you get all the hard games away and all the easy ones at home. so basically you have a job that is incredibly difficult, with a small amount of support (struggling wise not $) and your schedule is fricking hard as frick every other year to the point that it isn't feasible to believe you can get through unscathed because you play all the big dogs at thier house. now tell me who the frick would find this job appealing? we are lucky to have who we have and we are lucky he is driven and loves it here and likes the challenge. let that shite sink in and consider it next time you make a coaching search thread.

the guy has proven he can develop talent and put them in the league. he is building us the right way from the inside out. even if he doesn't win here he will lay the foundation fort something special that will get wins. the guy is going to win here. go get a copy of ncaa football 2014. pick Fricking the worst team you can find and see how many years it takes you to get the roster to a respectable level. I know it's a game but it still will give you a good idea of how little 1 or 2 recruiting classes makes when the roster is completely depleted.

I was pretty upset during the Toledo game. That was the first time that I realized that we bought into a bunch of bullshite throughout the offseason. I feel like we can see some of the things that Wisconsin fans were complaining about like in game calls, which players get meaningful snaps and all that jazz.
I think eventually we can have a consistent program with Bielema, but we'll always have to deal with head scratching moments during games because we are almost always in close games. Boneheaded calls are always going to get more attention when you're in a slobberknocker.
People tend to overlook the fact that we are dealing with a new OC and it showed in the first couple of games when the offensive line forgot how to block on simple run plays. We've also had a bunch of injuries. I'm trying to stay level headed and not get too emotionally involved because he isn't going anywhere with that 15M buyout.
I just hope to see this team pick up steam towards the end of the year so I can trick myself into believing that we can beat a Toledo next year without me having to punch a lawn chair into my neighbor's yard.

every fanbase has to deal with head scratching moments from their coach.
it's not like those moments would go away if we changed coaches.

Dude go find another site to post on if your just gonna down vote everyone who doesn't want CBB fired. you and that phaggot pork rind jimmy from HiV can make your own board and talk about how you want him fired and how he is a failure and you can discuss how awesome it will be when we hire nick saban from alabama or get urban or chip kelley and how they will turn this program around.
if all you do is bitch without any answer to solve what your bitching about your just being a whiney tPOS.

I would just like to know how our opinion matters and what we're supposed to do about it. Lot's of teams have been huge in the past and fallen into obscurity. Among us is Nebraska, Pittsburgh, and Georgia Tech. And we compete in a MUCH tougher conference than those teams. I feel like one major underlying cause of this is the fact that our high school football has fallen behind the curve. I'm pretty sure every bordering state produces more than our handful of blue chip players, and we tend to lose the best one of the few year-in and year-out. Until this is addressed and fixed, how much can we reasonably expect? And how CAN it be fixed?
Bert was a proven winner in another major conference. He was among the safest hires possible on paper. I mostly just don't want to start this stupid, nerve-racking process all over again and find out we fired him a year too early or something. I don't know how old everyone here is, but if the answer is not "a small child", then we all have too few football seasons left to enjoy to take the scorched earth approach every three or four years.
Do I feel that we deserve better? Well, not all programs are created equally. There's a reason we're in the SEC, and it's not to bring up the academic standards. That slot's been filled. Yeah, I feel the Arkansas football program is better endowed, has a bigger winning history overall, and is is a better position to succeed than a good deal of the other P5 programs in the nation. But at the same time, what is all of this entitlement going to bring me but a lot of frustration and depression? I want to enjoy every win we get, not live my life pissed off all the time. I want to win more, and I believe it's possible we can. But firing coaches all the goddamn time is only going to give us (very) temporary feelings of hope.

LOLz. You realize, NEWB, that I've never called for Bert's head? Not once? I know you've been here all of a few months, but I would have thought you'd at least get your facts straight before running your fricking mouth.

Yes, yes. Let the hate boil through you. Of course, pointing out a negative aspect of Bert's coaching is reprehensible. I should be tarred and feathered.
THIS IS A frickING MESSAGE BOARD FOR A COLLEGIATE SPORTS TEAM. WHAT ARE THE EXPECTED TOPICS OF DISCUSSION, SIR? Rainbows and lollipops?
Oh - I forget. Being a, presumably, native Arkansan, you can't distinguish what many may call a "middle ground." Ask me what I think about the walk on program. Ask me what I think about the redshirt program. Ask me what I think about the direction of the defense.
But you won't. Because I pointed out something that I find unacceptable in the most DEMANDING frickING FOOTBALL CONFERENCE IN ALL OF THE LAND, all I do is bitch.
I'm trying to be a kinder, gentler ocelot in my old(er) age, but some of you fricking mouthbreathers make that incredibly difficult with your inability to find a middle ground.

A+ post.
I'm just not yet ready to accept 3rd in the west is the best Arkansas football can do.
