Legit question. Besides Vandy, are we in a better spot than anybody for future success? Maybe SC, but they've brought in some decent classes.

Until he can have all his recruits, I refuse to analyze the situation.

Free pass until year 5?

Saw in another thread someone broke down the other teams seniors and juniors.

We're really not that far off from them. Problem is we have basically no freshman or sophomore impact players, which is not a good sign.

Well due to his contract, he's going to have that free pass.

Bert is going to do more than 15 mil worth of damage to the program if he stays here for 2 more years

I don't agree....just yet. But I'm an optimist.

Program or team?

Program: no

Team: too early to tell, but I'd still say no

We have lost to the #14, #26 and #31 teams in the AP. I know 1-3 isn't what anybody expected but I don't think we are as bad as most everyone else thinks we are. The injuries have been hard to overcome but I think we showed some progress and should have won last week. I think we finish the season strong, I think we beat UT, AU, UT-M, Miss St, Missouri, and one of LSU, Bama, or Ole Miss. That would put us at 7-5 going into the bowl. The sky isn't falling yet, a lot depends on this weekend. If we lose to UT and Bama and go into the bye at 1-5, its going to be a rough ride!

We haven't played well, but we've played some very good teams. Yes, I admit it is pretty underwhelming to lose games the exact same way time after time but there you have it. Even if this year winds up being a complete flame out and Bielema comes back in next year and does even worse the program is in good shape.

Our new cross division rival Missouri has more potential for a good series then USCe, since neither side gave a rat's patoot about each other before. We've got a good series going with Texas A&M that will get some attention from Texas recruits. We still have some weird voodoo power over Les and LSU.

To top it off we are making money hand over fist at the moment. The program will be just fine no matter what happens with Bielema. Hopefully he manages to turn things around and keep them turned around soon but the programs is chugging along about as nicely as it can.

Great. Who gives a frick.

Success is only measured in wins

Money is often viewed as a leading indicator for wins. Lord knows why. Texas is fricking rich. Saying we are making money is just a shortcut. It's a promise we will be good someday because money can do something then. It can also do something right now

Well, I Do for one...

When Petrino left and Smiley took over the bottom was hit period.

We have not only sustained but grown in brand value and dynamics. On the field still is to be determined imho. I too am optimistic about the future with or without CBB. If he continues to bomb out, the program will be sustainable for growth on and off the field by the next coach by the type of players we have. And I refuse to believe that our younger players are trash, in fact they have the potential to be better than the older players imho as well in time.

Good grief, some folks just love misery and wallow in it like hogs

It seems like we have had a top 5, in strength, schedule since 2008.

TCU would have been decent mid-major TCU back then, but was pushed back to make room for Texas then aTm, so now we get top 5 TCU.

Kinda like when big name shitty SC was scheduled and they go out and hire Carroll and are dynasty SC by the time we face them.

So we schedule big name shitty Michigan and they hire Harbaugh, wanna guess where they'll be as a program by the time they rotate onto the schedule?

Some one needs to knock off this bullshite and get a Baylor type non-con schedule for the first few years after a coaching change...
