Remains found in rural Jackson County, Arkansas have been confirmed to be those of Malik Drummond, a two-old Searcy boy who police say was killed by his father.
The Searcy Police Department said DNA results confirmed the remains belonged to Malik. However, the results from the Arkansas State Crime Lab did not reveal the cause of death.

In police documents, Lesley Marcotte, the ex-girlfriend of Jeffery Clifton, says Malik died from injuries after Clifton beat him - three days before they reported the boy missing. She says one of the missing posters for the boy shows bruising from a previous beating.

She told investigators he took the boy's body to work the next day and later borrowed an SUV from his brother to dispose of Malik's body.
