And we take the ball out of his hands in the red zone, over and over.
Bert/Enos have to start trusting Austin if we want to beat the big boys in the SEC. And I don't just mean QB sweeeps.
He's the best player on the team. Our WRs are top notch. Let him run the offense.

I agree. He played his heart out and kept going in and getting killed in the 4thQ. The Oline will have a long day today in the film room watching their QB get raped in the 2nd half.
Also, I thought Whaley had the hot hand when given the ball. Play calling was terrible overall though. I believe that with our weapons, we can still be a running team, but use the pass to open the run up instead.

We're a passing team, or we should be. Our personnel in the passing game are far better than in the run game. We have the best receiving corps and the best QB in the SEC.

I disagree.
We are a balanced team.
If teams play us to strong up front we can pick them apart....too weak and we can pound the ball.
What doesn't work is our compact goal line package that allows teams to pack the box and shoot gaps.
When we keep WRs split out....we can score running or passing.

At this point I don't even think we're a balanced team. We can run late when things open up from the pass, but we're definitely a pass first team.
Mostly, we need work on the offensive line and at linebacker. Brooks Ellis, while mentally great, is just physically challenged and not quite good enough to allow our defense to be really solid.
I'm not complaining. I thought A&M would be loss, mostly because A&M is really good. We're still better than I thought we would be this season and I think 8 or 9 regular season wins is very realistic.
I think losing Coley last night hurt more than we figured as far as keeping our defense fresh etc. Our red zone offense needs more passing and less power running. We're too obvious.

I can agree with that.
Some Aggy started a thread this past week claiming that the notion that we're a power running team is a myth. I didn't post in that thread because there was actually a lot of truth to it.
If we can get our line to gel and our ground game up to snuff, our offense will be fantastic. We did last year and trotted out an offense that was better than anything Petrino ever fielded here.
On the bright side, we had three huge questions on offense coming into this year. QB, RB and OL, and two of them have been answered positively. Allen is a gamer and tough as nails. The backs have been very good with Rawleigh as the workhorse, Walker as the supplemental back and Whaley getting increased touches and showing flashes of brilliance. The lone issue is our offensive line, which is a mess right now.
We just have to figure out the right side of the line.

Austin Allen has proven what he can do. Too bad we don't have that big, physical, Greg Childs like receiver for Austin to fo to in the EZ.
Enos is going to have to get more creative too. We ran that bootleg way too many times on first down. There wasn't much there.
I wouldn't mind seeing Whaley get more touches either. Maybe a few dump plays and let him use those legs for big plays.

I disagree.
A&M struggled getting to Allen much of the game due to our running game.
They played run first which slowed their pass rush down and created good one on one matchups against their secondary.
Our run game is still dangerous if you don't scheme to stop it. Last night, Aggies schemed to stop it which allowed Allen to pick them apart.

Has Drew Morgan ever let us down in the endzone?

We don't even have to be that, just balanced.
