"the University of Arkansas is MY Kentucky, Kansas, or Duke."

Love him already.

Good job, Mike.

Didn't expect him to be first. Huge pickup.

WOW! Read his letter, it was incredibly written and might bring some great attention with it as well,

Very proud of this commitment. WPS!

What's the scoop on this kid? What are his strengths and weaknesses?

Just read Perry's commitment statement. That's uncommon.

Pretty impressive and genuine. I don't know anything about the kid, but he's already going to be one of my favorites. He seems to be a very thoughtful and humble young man.

If he keeps that attitude and keeps working hard there's nothing but success in his future.

what a great contrast to the last few in-state basketball player 'business decision' statements.

This kid is legit

He has a great attitude to go along with an amazing skill set.

Mike Anderson's recruiting has been phenomenal lately.

So I knew we had a few more studs in state for 2018 class, and I was looking, and Connor Vanover is a 3 star now?

Holy shite what a drop, he was a 5 star in February. The 7'2" white kid, crystal ball 100% to Ark.

Ethan Henderson out of LR Magnet (Garland is his teammate) is a 96 rated 4 star PF on 247 too.

This is from Feb 25th on Vanover
quote:

Vanover has a grade of 99 with the 247Composite, No. 17 recruit in the Top247, No. 2 center and No. 1 prospect in Arkansas in 2018.

Currently an 88 3 star ranked 140.

Going to assume this is your usual case of 7'2" kid leveling out as he gets older against now bigger and better competition at camps.

He's just a really awkward fit anywhere. I imagine someone like Alabama will take him and hope he grows into his frame.

My first thought also, would be a hard fit for our team due to our play style. Would be a great asset for a slow it down offense/zone primary defense.

Imo, Offense only, could make him match up against smaller/quicker player and abuse him. (Small lineup, guard oriented)

Completely agree, was speaking more on when bigs are in. I've never seen videos of the kid so I'm talking out of my arse on his speed/agility.

I want him because he'd make us a more complete team even though he's probably Shawn Bradley with a 3pt shot at the college level.
