I used to think that too. Problem is he stopped growing in 10th grade.
He never hit that 6-5/6-6 range I thought he might get to. He's the same weight as he was when he came in but put together much better and starting to look like an athlete.
I expect him to really look like a different person by August. He kinda mentioned off hand in an interview the other day that his brother is in Fayetteville during the off-season and helping him everyday that Chris is here.
eta: also another thing to love about Bert is he is really welcoming with the former players.

Lot of diamonds committing out of the blue. It will be interesting to see if they blow up this year or not.

same HS as Dejon Harris, Coach Smith keeps earning that raise!
S. Louisiana looking to be way more fruitful than S. Florida. Smart move by the staff imo.
The distance just isn't as far and less hats in the game.

That's hideous dude. At least try and give some effort.
Nobody cares about videos. At this point, take down the offers we have out because you can't keep up with them all.
Just put the kids, their stars. thats it.

Updated a little in the OP. I'm going cross-eyed now.
Good stuff Pio, keep up the good work keeping us informed.
The only people complaining, already know the info, so why in the hell do they need the fricking OP updated?

Not sure I qualify for mentally capable.
anywho, how about Michael Smith getting 2 pretty decent early commits who have yet to visit Fayetteville. They committed sight/unseen which is a bit off the M.O. from Bert.
Maybe getting his arse handed to him and getting stuck 5 schollies short while slow playing talented kids when everyone else was showing mad love has changed his policy of offering in person.
I actually agree with his approach it certainly seems the logical way. You don't make that kind of commitment without shaking a man's hand, seeing how he handles himself and getting a sense of how their jib is cut.
Body language, non-verbal communication, the long loving gaze into their eyes... oh wait that's something else. But when the competition is taking early commits, earlier and earlier and locking up guys you're interested in and playing them against you. Often you've got to take a few more chances and go with your gut early rather than after you've settled all the questions and qualifiers and deep vetting etc etc.
For those that say "get 'em on the hill", well in today's recruiting climate and the ridiculous NCAA regulations getting them on the hill in the time period that you actually can is proving more and more to be too late.
Coach Smith tapping that Louisiana well so much someone needs to get him some trucknuts and a F250.

Saw a tweet yesterday that Fisher is the 11th commit from Louisiana that Smith has landed at Arkansas. Pretty strong work in a state we've barely touched since we joined the SEC.

Pretty obvious Bert isn't dicking around and getting left at the alter by a bunch of long shot 5* on the OL this year.

I'm sure he'll end up a 3* before the week's out. That Arky OL bump.
Is it just me, or are we maybe going a little more athletic in OL recruiting? It seems like they're more open to those 270-280 pound guys that need a little more seasoning, which I love. I figure we'd always recruit the true, ready-to-play studs when they come along and we have a shot, but outside of those types, I like the idea of building up athletic guys than trying to make huge guys more athletic.

Anderson definitely seems a little more liberal in his offers than Pittman. We've already offered 24 OL in this class. With Pittman, we offered 30, 35 and 39 total within the last 3 classes. So 6 more offers over the next 11 months and he'll break the number of offers we sent out last year. I'm pretty sure we'll get there.
